inspiration for a present for DH

I am having ishoos with my gift for DH. I am probably the worlds worst present giver, I never get it quite right, but DH is also the worst present receiver, in that to get any excitement out of him you have to plug him into a 240v supply.....

I had found a lovely 19" LCD TV at a bargain price for our bedroom, but during some pillow talk the other night he made it quite clear a TV was not a preferred gift. While then trying to steer the conversation to what he DID want all I got was, "I don't know, I don't need anything"....i didn't think Christmas was about getting stuff you needed, more what you wanted but would never buy for yourself.....

He's into the gym at the mo - trying to loose lots of weight before DC3 arrives in Feb, he plays rugby for a local team, but other than that he's just a Dad and a Husband......any weird and wonderful inspirational ideas?

Tickets to the Blur gig? That's what I've got DH, so we can relive our youth.

What about an ipod shuffle plus arm strap for the gym? (Also handy for when you're at 6.30am pushing the buggy about trying to get a child to sleep...)

Tickets to blur gig very good idea LilRedWG, I might steal that. I think something to do is great idea, particularly if you have dc3 on the way and his activities will soon be curtailed.

I have got my dh box set of The Wire, people keep telling me it's great and we do like a good serial to watch when there's nothing on TV. Have also got him some gloves that he can operate an ipod with and was thinking of getting him a new wallet which he really needs but isn't going to be at all excited about.

My DH is the same. I have been really struggling with the perfect gift. Unfortunately as I am a SAHM and our bank account is joint then if I buy him things he doesn't really want he moans that he has effectively paid for rubbish himself!

I have booked 2 tickets to see Jimmy Carr in May. I will probably be accused of only booking it because I want to go (which is slightly true ) but I am sure we will both enjoy a good night out together. Have already arranged for my MIL to have the DC overnight and the tickets are wrapped up and hidden in my cupboard.

last year i bought two tickets for WWE for him and a mate (not my cuppa), some shoes which didn't fit and a lovely cahsmere jumper (which I subsequently shrank).
