Don;t want to buy alcohol as think he might not drink for religious reasons.
Don;t want to buy a mug with DD's 'artwork' as nursery are a bit funny about babies producing finished 'works of art'.
Don;t want to give food/choccies because am giving homemade fudge to everyone in baby room.
Don;t think flowers would be his thing.

Want to give him something special - just for him - as he's fab with DD and very close to her.

Taking day off to go christmas shopping today, so need ideas quick!

Why don't you ask one of the other staff members if he likes a particular football team and buy him a calendar or something?

Why wouldn't he like fudge though??

FeelingLucky · 04/12/2008 09:11

Fudge would be a pressie for everyone in babyroom to share.
Want to get something just for him.
Will ask other staff members when he's around.

iTunes voucher?
cinema voucher

pagwatch · 04/12/2008 09:12

HMV vouchers

pagwatch · 04/12/2008 09:14

The HMV gift card is pretty cool as you can get it topped up. My mum got one for my DS1 and she tops it up for him for birthday and christmas.
He can get DVDs/ CDs or ipod accessories or books/ games/t-shirts

FeelingLucky · 04/12/2008 09:16

I'm loathe to giving vouchers because it seems as though there's no thought gone behind it - which is true in this case because I'm asking you lot to think for me

Might go down the vouchers route as a last resort.

young men though are very difficult.

You could pick out a DVD for him and give him a gift receipt with it so he could change it if he wants to..
Mighty Boosh seems to be universally popular amongst 15 yo DS and his oeers and all through his school up to 6th form....

PortAndLemon · 04/12/2008 09:26

Does he have an interest? When DS was first at nursery we bought his keyworker, who was into free climbing, Lynn Hill's autobiography and that seemed to go down well. So an appropriate book?

BellaKissedSanta · 04/12/2008 09:27

Nice scarf from Monsoon men or similar? Next if your budget is lower?

hf128219 · 04/12/2008 09:28

Vouchers make sense - itunes, HMV, Waterstones (which can be used in HMV too) or a theatre token??

jenk1 · 04/12/2008 10:15

ive bought DS,s keyworker a pair of spongebob cufflinks (cos thats DS obsession and his keyworker is always laughing over spongebob) and for his teacher i bought a nice pen and for his LSA ive bought a little ornament.

what about a trendy toiletry set,i got DH one for his birthday from boots and it had a nice leather wallet in it.

HTH

After all that, I've been told by staff members that he does like a tipple. So, I'm going to buy him a bottle of rum [hsmile]
