Do you think this will be OK?

Here in Poland as a mixed family we give the kids their Father Christmas/St. Nicholas presents on Dec. 6 (this Sat.)
My DDs "wrote" their letters and FC "took" them, DD1 (5) wanted a my little pony with wings and a princess (fine, DH is out shopping today and has just told me he's found one).

DD2 (3) wanted a doll and a doll's house. Now the thing with the doll's house is that DD1 got a wooden doll's house for her birthday just a month ago. She is really good with sharing it, DD2 gets to play with it whenever she wants. But DD2 is aware it belongs to DD1 and now her logic is: "DD1 had one, now I want one".

Am not forking out for another big doll's house, don't feel it's necessary. BUT have bought her this amazing, huge (and hopefully sturdy!) book which opens out like a pop-up book only can be fixed to stand up and form a house shape, and there are all these press-out cardboard figures to play with in it. Also I know that at preschool St. Nick is coming to see them on Fri and I know that for 3-yr-old girls he is bringing a doll. My dilemma is this: Will the dolly from the pre-school St. Nick and my book-cum-doll's house make my little DD2 happy? I don't want to spend a fortune, I don't do expensive presents for this occasion and we already have a doll's house, but the last thing I want is DD2 to be upset. Should I buy her a doll for her stocking too?

Could you buy her a different small present other than a doll?

Doesn't seem much point getting her another one if she's going to receive one in school anyway

I agree with miawallace- maybe try to think of something completely different which she'll also love. It's an important lesson that you can't have everything you hope for... maybe put a letter in from Santa too, to make it extra special?

Yes, she is getting a few little bits too: a hat, some slipper socks, a book, a (bog-off) DVD and a puzzle. It was just whether I was being too mean not getting her a doll for her stocking because she will already have one. But you have reassured me that I'm probably not. Thank you!
