What would you expect to offered to drink if you were invited over for mince pies in the middle of the afternoon?

Would like to provide my English conversation group with a bit of traditional British hospitality this Christmas.

I would offer regular wine as well as mulled, like mince pies mulled wine isn't everyone's drink of choice.

the bizarre thing is that if it was 11am I'd stretch to a mulled wine...I think it's the imminence of a meal (even if not with host) that somehow makes the booze slip down without guilt.
