Innkeeper costumes - what does this MEAN????

flightattendant5 · 29/11/2008 08:34

I have been given a note from school

Ds is an innkeeper

Costume:

'Front to back shirt (no collar)'
'teatowel and headband'

I can cope with the teatowel bit but what is the shirt thing about? Someone help me decipher it please!

Does it mean a t shirt, a man's short with collar cut off? I can't figure out how he is meant to wear it back to front. I was hoping for something I could be creative with - would they mind if I produced something a bit more, y'know, classy - what do innkeepers wear anyway?

sounds like a grandad shirt to me but I would expect they'll be grateful for anything tbh. I think it would be absolutely fine to bling it up a bit - but obviously they can't ask for anything above the very basic really as some families won't have the means or the wherewithall to come up with anyhting more elaborate.

Over the past 2 years I've noticed hoards of nativity-stars in ready-made Tesco's costumes. They certainly saw a market for it!

they want a collarless shirt so they are suggesting you put a normal shirt on him backwards

flightattendant5 · 29/11/2008 08:52

Oh I see, thanks...

have not got a man's shirt though. No bloke here

Might see if I can find something of mine that would do...

Gosh my fashion knowledge of the 1st century is sadly lacking

No, I agree with flightattendant - they want a collarless shirt (like a granddad shirt) on him backwards (so that it looks like a robe rather than a shirt). But I doubt they'd object if you go classier, so long as yu have the same basic "look" -- they can't really expect you to go out and buy a granddad shirt just so that your DS can wear it backwards.

I meant Oovavu, not flightattendant, obviously...

Oh PAL, people are so used to agreeing with me on all sorts of crucial things, so I am not surprised you said that, it is just such a common thing to write
