We are considering buying a wi for the whole family. Has anyone got one? Do the children spend a lot of time on it (We try to limit screen time)? Is it a good buy?

I don't know about the children but I love it!

you can play stuff together, it's fantastic for a rainy day

I think it's great my sis has one and brought it with her last Christmas we all played it from 25 yrs to 69 yrs, and my son who was then 20 months even tried to join in. It's a very active game so not so much couch potato like computer games. I have bought one for us this Christmas - but it's a secret.

we have had one for a while, and having not used it for ages, got some more games last week and a wii fit. And have been using it lots and lots, it is great fun.

And, dcs are 3&4 and love playing on it, altho we do limit it as I can see they are going to start loving it soon.

we have one and we all enjoy it (8years to 44.) We do limit it to not on a school night but thats fine with everyone.

Its the only games console I have ever actually enjoyed playing myself. Its so much more interactive than other consoles.

I love the Wii fit. Its addictive. The Wii is great because its active and there are so many games that aren't violence based.

my boys 2 and 5 love it too. They can't master running on the spot though, they crash into the wall the TV's on which I know I shouldn't laugh at but it is really funny.

MrsWeasley · 28/11/2008 20:04

oh dh has brought the children a Wii fit, well he said it was for the DCs

A · 28/11/2008 20:09

Thanks for all the replies, seems like I can let dh go ahead - I think he's keener than anyone.

another vote for it here. Surprisingly they don't ask to play it every day, although both boys (7 and 5) love it. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is their favourite.

When they do play it, its really hard to get them off (especially DS2), so invest in a kitchen timer is my advice

My DD - aged 1 at the time, managed to set our burglar alarm off as I was too engrossed in playing Guitar Hero on the wii to see her fiddling with control panel (bad mummy icon)so I have to have a 'not when DD is awake' rule for myself now.
