a christmas gift for a MIL I can't stand

Ok, DH has asked me to get xmas gifts for his family. In fairness to him, he works a lot and never has time to shop, plus buying the gifts will allow me to find something to teach my MIL a lesson, the only thing is what do I get to do this?

Problem with MIL is that she is very critical - of my cooking skills, my ability to keep house (her house is a tip), my mother skills, my weight (she's much bigger) and constantly compares me to her other DIL.

So I'm looking for a gift that would get my point across without being so obvious - something that's a dig at her own cooking/housekeeping/weight etc.

I know that sounds horrible, but believe me this woman has had me in tears so often.

Yes, I have tried saying I'm not buying anything at all but this would cause all sorts of problems and I've had enough hassle so something that makes her wonder if I'm having a dig or not, something she can't prove..

I would just tell DH that you can do internet shopping and leave it to him.

for the kids to make:

Fill a rubber glove with plaster of paris, leave to set with hand manipulated into suitable position... one finger pointing north perhaps?

when set, remove from rubber glove, paint and present as a ring tidy

If she's a size 18 buy her an item of clothing in a size 22 [devil emoticon]

The scales are not real but you can get polite talking scales with an english accent (my bf is registered blind)they also do them with memory.

it would be fab to have rude talking scales
