Wooden marble runs

Would really like to hear from people who have the Haba or Quadrilla marble runs - are they stable? Would they be good for a (generally fairly careful) 5 year old boy? Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I have just bought one of these (Quadrilla) , having seen it on display in a shop. The display one looked really stable. The connections fit very snugly, and the weight helps it. Haven't used it yet, but when it arrived and I checked it seemed very good quality.

this was cheapest site I found, and immediate delivery.

Thanks - do you mind me asking where the shop was? Would be great to see before buying. Thanks for the link too, looks ideal!

Hi, the quadrilla basic set is a couple of pounds cheaper on GLTC (once you have added postage on) using the MN discount - I don't know about the bigger sets tough as I am only getting the basic this time round!

This was the shop - in Sydney Street, Brighton

Ooh, I hve jsut seen GLTC have 20% off and free delivery for orders over £75 until 30th November.

NCB that's a great offer!

yes very solid (haba) but didn't get played with all that much.

Lots of love in the shop. None at home.

I know, I have ordered mine even thoguh I can't really afford it this week. In my book saving £20 on a £100 spend is not seomthing you can pass up!

AllBuggiedOut · 25/11/2008 12:57

That's disappointing Miyazaki - why do yo think they didn't play with it? DS is desperate for one and always plays with the plastic ones at other people's houses, but they're all pretty unstable and many have some bizarre motor or lift thingy which he loves the idea of but never works properly...

My ds uses his best friends all the time, it is all he plays with at his house which is why I am getting one - having said that he may well not touch it when it is in his house IYSWIM (although it is not likeluy as I love things like this )

I really don't know, just one of those things - maybe it was because they couldnt' get the box out themselves (too heavy)...
