Have we had a thread about wrapping paper?

Or is it too dull?

I need to find longer than average rolls, which are thicker than average. Each year I wrap big presents in thin crappy paper which splits, and I spend most of Xmas Eve taping up the split bits
( I wrap in early Dec and store until Xmas Eve when I put them all under the tree)
Anyone got any tips?
Thanks

Interesting link, Accordion girl. Great ideas.

If for children, Toys R Us used to do longer than average rolls but not sure if they still do.

If I am transporting presents or seeing family a long way before Christmas so they need to store, I overwrap with cellophane to protect the Christmas paper, plus it looks quite posh!

Just bought the biggest roll of thick silver paper from Costco in Cardiff for about £4.
Is so long, it will probably last until DD leaves home.

I have used brown paper, newspaper (the gardening or travel sections) tied with big bright ribbons, comics, magazines, rolls of lining paper, wallpaper, and tissue paper.

Brown paper over-wrapped with pretty cellophane (florist's supply shops again) looks stunning and is super-tough.
