they get a small gift for each other and open them christmas eve before bed. helps them think about giving and helps calm them before bed. this year ds 15 has a book from dd5 and ds3. ds3 and dd5 have a ragdoll and a teddy.

My DD's have ben buying things for each other and for me and DH from about the age of 5. At first we helped them choos. then they started buying things form Chrostmas fairs and chossing them selves. We have got some strange things throught the years. It was nice when they started buying good presents,
Now they are 16,18 and 21 and they are very good at buying each other and us very nice presents,

yes, its more for the giver than the receiver though.

ds [just four] saw some pink tat lovely little girls hair bobbles and slides in sainsbos the other day and said " i bet dd would like those for her christmas" so we got them for her. my ds will also be getting free mirror lego from dd.

Yes I take DD out and DH takes DS and they choose each other a gift up to £10.
We then buy a gift for Me and DH from them £20 limit.
That way they get to experience the joy of giving and DH and I get a pressie(we don't buy for each other, but influence the DC gifts)

When they are old enough for pocket money they will have to save it up for the gifts.
I did this as a child and it made the day much more than mememe
