Present for 18 year old boy - not a voucher or money

(because have just given him money for his birthday and I know he received a lot of vouchers, so really want to buy a present). No idea what tho. Budget £10 - £15. Haven't seen him for a while to know what he's into/already got. I have bought lots of football stuff in the past but think he's more into gym now. Will be going to uni next year, so perhaps something getting ready for that - or is that too boring?? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

For my 18th (many years ago) my uncle bought me a travel bag. It was a fantastic present and I used it all through uni, hurling washing backwards and forwards to the laundrette, visits home and to bf's etc.

The bag is a good one.

Hi Janeite. Was thinking of some sort of bag. What do you mean by travel bag? Like a holdall?? I like that idea and definitely an option. Don't want to put others off posting tho, so please keep other suggestions coming (given that I'm still trying to work out what to buy DS, who's a bit younger but just as difficult!)

DVD also a good idea, will check with his Mu what he's got or might like. Will keep cookery book til next year and know whether he's in self catering or catered halls. Thanks.

Yes - a holdall.

Sam Stern has a student cookbook out.

great idea about the towel. Sports towel or holdall doing it for me right now. Cook book next year if he's self-catering or in a house. Thanks everyone.
