Would you do it if you were skint and aslong as they were in top condition obviously but my son is 2.5YO so he won't care and I've saved a bit!

Just bein nosey really!

All the kids in my house under 3 have had second hand toys from charity shops and ebay! They really can't tell the difference and it is a good way of not overspending. Good for the environment too !

Check out the NCT website for their sales local to you as well, don't have to pay for postage then & get to inspect what you're buying.

I would, but tbh near to christmas people seem to go loopy and bid far too much(IMO) for a 2nd hand item The best savings are to be made in the summer. I did this last year for ds' presents(9 months last christmas) I got him at least £100 of toys(when new) for £20 and they were all in fab condition, you wouldn't know they were 2nd hand apart from the fact there was no boxes.

Also, my top tip is to shop at bootfairs in the summer as they're even cheaper and no waiting for the postman or paying postage

i do buy second hand toys, for the simple fact that kids dont know the difference, and i can save the rest of the money to spend on clothes

I second the suggestion of car boot sales in the summer as the most economical way to do it. Charity shops here seem to be getting increasingly expensive, and the NCT sales are good, but can be a bit of a scrum so it's worth going sans kids if you get the chance. Ebay can be good - but it's worth searching for things which are local to you (you can sort by distance) so you could collect, as the postage often bumps things up a lot.

Worth keeping an eye on freecycle too - I'm not the only one who offers things on there if I just want to declutter and get rid of things without the hassle of ebay listings/postage or having to do a car boot sale or wait for the next NCT one.
