Has anyone seen this advertised? Do you know what its like or if the packets of cupcake mixture are full of rubbish?

my dds want this too!

No idea if it is any good though sorry. (I suspect not if last year's chocolate coin machine is anything to go by )

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I have big big ishoos with the fact it's called the 'Girl Gourmet'... because of course, it's only girls who are / should be interested in baking.

my ds wanted this desperately for her birthday, late oct. so bought it, have used it once, cakes taste awful, icing machine is rubbish and doesnt even have a variety of nozzle for added interest.today ds came home from school and asked to make cakes but proper ones!
my advice would be to wait til they come down in price as def not worth £30. or go to lakeland plastic and buy load of baking stuff.

Pawslikepaddington · 12/11/2008 22:46

Oh god dd wants this-I told her "no" before it even got on the santa list-we also got the choc coin maker and swore so much it is still in the cupboard now, so cupcake maker-no way!

Lakeland do an amazing de luxe kids baking set for £15; durable, usable and unisex.

Much better imo.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 13/11/2008 17:22

LIDL have some great silicon baking moulds and sets of bowls at the mo. I would get something like that instead or the Lakeland set as Peachy suggests. Much more versatile.

Poundland have some silicone btw too, although ours just has muffins / faiy cakes and butterfly tins (the sort of tin that would cost you £20 if you used for birthday cakes)

lizziemun · 13/11/2008 18:29

DD1 has this one from Lakeland.

But we also use this which we make fairy cakes in using petit four cases.

yep, thats the one i gave d-nephew fo5r his birthday

Oh dear, I can see a connection here, we have bought the cupcake maker for christmas, am convinced anyway it will be rubbish but dd's so badly wanted it, and as I am hoping for a kitchenaid (fingers crossed) we thought it would be nice.

The connection being we got the chocolate coin maker last year, we used it once and it was a complete faff to make 1 coin we have never bothered with it again.
