Was going to do a lucky dip, but find that all the lucky dip things you buy are pretty crappy, tbh.

Any other ideas what I could do for our stall? Already doing face painting and a raffle and selling sweets and juice, but wanted to do a gamey type thing too. help!

Lucky lollies;
20p or 30p a lolly. (depends on how cheap you can buy the lollies)
You stand the lollies up so that you cannot see the end of the sticks.
Child picks a lolly.
Some lollies have a coloured stick which means they can either win a prize or have their money back.
Child gets to keep lolly so "no losers"

that sounds like a good one, makealist, thanks for that

Another one that I have just remembered is to make up a jigsaw puzzle and on the back of some pieces draw a star, then charge 10p or so to pick out a piece of the puzzle, if it has a star on it you win a small prize or a sweet.

Hi
Our school does suprise jars, children
Parents send in a jam jar with sweets or something nice, wrapped in Christmas paper. A raffle ticket is stuck on top and the other one in the pot, £1 a go but everyone is a winner.
We also do Christmas platters a disposable plate is sent home, Children parents decorate with items ie pet items, toiletries whatever you want to buy back!! these are then sold at the fair normally to the people that sent them in!

Hi a treasure hunt is good. You get a map (preferably a cartoony type one) and divide it in squares then charge 10p or so to pick which square you think the treasure is buried in. Whoever guesses right wins the treasure (a box of gold coins or something)

Also apple bobbing is always fun

I'll see if I can think of anything else

Scifinerd · 10/11/2008 19:52

Oh yes grassheads. You get cheap flower pots, old tights, sawdust, elastic bands and grass seeds plus pens and stickers. You charge whatever and the children get to make and decorate a grass head. They do this by tying a knot in one end of the old stocking, putting in a handful of grass seeds, then filling with sawdust. You then tie the other end and turn it upside down so grass seeds at top. You use the elastic bands to pull out a sawdust nose and ears and decorate. the kids then take them home and water and it will grow grass hair. It is really popular.

thanks again all. sciniferd - that sounds like something a bot different, thanks for that.

I don't think we can rely on people donating things for us to sell, though
