Choosy, no one is tighter than me!
New born getting box of nappies £5 from Asda (useful)
15 year old, thought about £5 worth of bits from Claires accessories outlet store (20% less than normal Claires)
For the others, just been looking on the book people and i can get 10 Charlie & Lola books for £10 so gonna split them up and give then to a few girls old enough to enjoy, and some little sweeties.
So its a start.
At the mo, Asda have some half price toys so gonna see what they have got, and defo Primark for Pjs & socks.

Presuming they are not individual children and are grouped in families how about a family present instead? You could buy a family game or day out. Whilst it might not suit all ages at once each person will get something out of it in years to come! Also if they are on 3-2 it could work out really cheap!

Excellent ideas deany..!

Goober · 02/11/2008 22:10

Don't know, but it's worth a try.

M&S have some nice Christmassy light decorations this year - little candles and hangy-up stars - 3 for 10 quid?

BibiThree · 03/11/2008 12:56

It wasn't a comfortable conversation for me to start, but I knew it was a sensible one and that my friends would understand, especially at Christmas time.

ClareVoiant · 03/11/2008 13:26

what about something like this

fossa · 03/11/2008 13:32

My sisters and I agreed a few years ago not to buy for each others kids, (or each other) as it was getting out of hand. Leaves more money to buy your own kids some thing you know they'll like. made everything much, much easier.

Twims · 03/11/2008 13:35

I've ebayed and got a lot of sealed toys ie playmobil, lego etc from about £2 per child.

Twims · 03/11/2008 13:36

Ooh Cat64 I'd want that

zoejeanne · 03/11/2008 13:57

I have 3 little babes on my list this year, 3 last year and 2 the year before. I just get a lovely christmas tree decoration (accessorise do really cute ones) for tiny ones - they're too small to appreciate Christmas, but hopefully the parents will say in a few years when decorating the tree "zoejeanne bought you that". They're only a couple of quid too - can't help with the older ones though, sorry!

The book people are doing fab sets at the moment. For boys they have 10 Harry and the Dinosaurs books for £10 which can be split and Dr Seuss set of all the books for £20.

Oh and 3 Horrid Henry joke books for £3.99.

Guess who's been shopping

Nbg · 03/11/2008 14:07

Well have a good look through the Boots 3 for 2 stuff because you can pay by paypal online. Once upon a time you couldn't use your points online but I was told that was going to change. Not sure if you can do that now but if you can thats a fair amount to spend.

Nbg · 03/11/2008 14:07

I see Goober already mentioned it

I did quite well in Hobbycraft at the weekend for birthday presents I needed to get. They have some lovely craft kits for £5 that half price and Shrinkles (going down a storm amongst 5 year old DS and friends) are 3 for £15.

bluesky · 03/11/2008 14:17

cat64's idea is spot on really. (choc bar wrapped with a £5). My two love it when they get given one of the cadburys selection packs.

I've just got the new book people brochure, it has some great kids offers, mr men, horrid henry, charlie & lola etc.
