Cause I'm not sure if I'm about right in what I'm planning to spend!

Also is is totally unfair of me to spend less on my 1 yr old than my 4 yr old?

not unfair at all
dd (2) is getting Rainbow Acquadraw - £25
ds is getting fisher price camera - £50 and some dvds
tbh dd will be happy with a room full of balloons and a packet of quavers
both will have stockings, whole shebang probably about £100 altogther (fingers crossed)

dd is 13
ds is 8

Usually about £50 each. Though this year it will be a bit different, because we are buying them a Nintendo Wii between them plus a few little things each.

However, this is the first time I will have spent so much.

Must add, you are not being unfair at all, after all the 1 year old won't know the difference.

we are spending almost nothing on dd (14m):

£5 Ikea truck
homemade 'That's not my Daddy' book
balloons
tinsel
large box saved from new dishwasher

done

Hmm feeling v extravagant now, I have spent about £200 total, x3 DC but DD2 (6 months) pressie was only £5 of that.

Flossish · 28/10/2008 20:02

Cool. DP is asking as he wants to give me money he's got from overtime now to stop himself spending it (good call knowing him).

He's saying about giving me £60 per child but IMO for DD that is too much, especially as he is assuming I'm going to contribute as well.

£150 and I'm thinking of buying tickets to a show of some kind (Joseph, Strictly Tour or waiting for WWE)which will add £50 to the cost for both of us.
My DD is 7.

It's not unfair at all to spend less on a 1yr old than a 4yr old. Neither will know anyway.

Stinkyfeet · 28/10/2008 20:07

I don't think that's unfair at all - at that age they have no idea how much things cost.

We're spending £40 - £50 on each ds (5.8 and 2.10 by Christmas), that includes stockings. They'll get loads of stuff from grandparents and other family members so certainly won't go short!

Why oh why do I find present hunting so hard? I know why really. I am too indecisive!!
