Hi I need ideas of what to put in a pamper pack/pressie. Something meaningful, some fun whatever.

Budget of about £40.00 no inspiration atm.

So need to rack your brains. Anyone seen nice pymamas or wolly tights funny books anything that will be something uplifting yet useful.

Thanks for reading B x

they have nice sanctuary new mum stuff in boots.

MrsMattie · 24/10/2008 16:00

The Rough Guide to Pregnancy is supposed to be good fun (haven't read it myself)

The What To Expect range of books are sort of the 'definitive guide' to pregnancy and having babies.

Almond Oil is lovely for stretchmarks or dry post-pregnancy skin.

Will think of some more...

Neal's Yard do lovely mum-to-be boxes at £35, I think - nice oils, mother's balm, etc.

LilRedWGoreandguts · 24/10/2008 16:03

Best Friend's Guide to Pregnancy by Vicky Iovine is excellent. I've just ordered it for a pregnant friend.

Is this Xmas present for a pregant person or a general "being pregnant" present?! How many weeks pregnant will they be when they receive it?

brookeslay · 26/10/2008 21:01

They will be about 30 weeks. I printed a voucher for huggies gift pack in sainsburys with some bits for free !. Something to do when on maternity leave and something for themselves thanks houseofmirth

B x The 40.00 will include a basket and the bits to put in it .

Book of baby names? Photo album? Voucher for a pedicure (she won't be able to reach her own toe nails and it's not as expensive as a massage)? DVD? My favourite book giift for new mums is {{http://www.amazon.co.uk/What-Mothers-Do-Especially-Nothing/dp/0749926201/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=book s&qid=1225056659&sr=8-1this]]. these smellies are nice and not too expensive - the leg revitaliser might be good.

thehouseofmirth · 26/10/2008 21:38

Sorry try again this book

brookeslay · 27/10/2008 11:04

thanks houseofmirth you are a clever person.
have you done something similar ?

There are couple of nice salons where she lives. After all is it relaxing and pampering thats going to be the order of the day.

Nope but am a pregnant person myself!

Hope your friend enjoys it!

mamaspanx · 27/10/2008 15:08

ear plugs and eye mask so she can sleep lots before baby arrives!

hambo · 27/10/2008 15:12

What a really lovely idea...

Lansolin nipple cream!! (The best by far)
Bio oil (for bump £9.99)
lavender essential oil for aiding sleep!
Lip balm for hospital
Nice slippers for hospital?
Nice smelling shampoo/conditioner for hospital....
Big toiletery bag to take in to hospital with her?

I would have loved all these things....what a great friend you are!

bella29 · 27/10/2008 15:13

Sanctuary at Boots used to do a cooling foot cream which was a godsend when I was preggers.

sweetheart · 27/10/2008 15:17

If you wanted cheaper smellies Boots do the mum to be Sanctuary range which is lovely - it's on 3 for 2 at the moment too.

sweetheart · 27/10/2008 15:19

What about some raspberyy leaf tea for if she's near her due date (it's supposed to soften your uterus) and some arnica tablets - they are a herbal rememdy that helps you heal more quickly by bringing our bruising.

brookeslay · 27/10/2008 16:47

Just got back from shopping, got some lip balm in boots bargain 75p its the balm balm range and all half price atm. I couldn`t find the santuary stuff in the Telford branch. Lots of their normal stuff.

I think i will look @ Boots online and order some things the lovely hambo suggested and see if they do the mum to be santuary range.

I got a cute lined basket coming ( an ebay buy). I think it going to look very exciting fingers crossed.

n.b makes note to self for arnica and raspberry tea thanks for the suggestion !

Best thing I was given was a very soft dressing gown (£20ish BHS or M&S) The really soft ones that are no good when you come ou of the shower but are very snuggly. DD loved it as soon as she was born and still wants cuddles when I wear 'snuggly'

Also, cosy bed socks? Socks in my labour bag was a top mumsnet tip as I did get cold feet while in labour.

Nice body lotion/cream

muslins - you can't have too many
