Is this normal lego, you know the small bricks, i thought it would be easy to find a box of it, but there seem to be a lot of construction kits which is a bit confusing (for a dimwit like me). I take it the lego duplo is bigger blocks as it is for younger.
Itis actually for ds's bday at end of november and he will be 4.

The death star is £275 Mind you, if you think you want the falcon then it'll make the death star seem cheap! But seriously, my head just says 'why spend that much on something that isnt even a solid piece and will get broken and pieces lost?'

When their older (11+ ) the Lego Mindstorm is brilliant for very technically minded dc's. They have even bought it at DS's secondary school. We have an old version but want to upgrade to the NXT

So, people that hate lego, if it is so bad, what do you reccomend?

Before i get any, what would be better for a 4 yr old boy?

flipflopper your ds will love lego, I can't think of anything quite the same. Yes the bits get everywhere and yes you may begin a lifelong obsession but better that than some of the other crap toys children play with.

Both my DC's have loved lego since they were little. DS started collecting Bionicles when he was 5 and still wants one for christmas at 13

We also found Knex is very good, again very small pieces but DC's played with it from little and still get it out occasionally.

Only wish Lego did a decent girls range. The Belleview is not really proper lego. The new houses are quite good but expensive. My DD also liked the HP range but they have stopped doing it now.
