Buying for a family child. She has it all!

What the hell do I buy? Its a joint present collection so have up to £100 to spend.

Riding lessons?
£100. Really?

snigger · 21/10/2008 20:55

What do you get for the man who has everything?

Penicillin

For a 7 year old though .... sponsor a favourite zoo animal and take her to see it for the day?

They usually dole out a certificate and a cuddly toy for that kind of money, and at depending on your stance on captive animals, you're supporting some form of conservation?

nolongeraworriedmummy · 21/10/2008 21:10

yep, its a collection though, not £100 from me lol, my dd isnt even getting that much from me!

I thought riding lessons but the cost would continue and not sure her parents would be happy paying for it even though they arent struggling.

Could you not buy something smaller and the rest could go in her savings?
Seems a lot to spend in one go - they don't really appreciate money at that age.

What interest does she have?

notsoseriousanymore · 21/10/2008 21:19

Agree with Snigger.

Sponsor an animal or a guide dog and take her to see it.

If she has everything, get her something she can feel good about.

Or buy her a tree to plant.

By the sounds of it, she doesn't need material stuff..

Or a hot air balloon ride... Or a trip to see the reindeer... (there are some in Dorset..)

OR... a trip to a pottery painting place where she gets to make pressies for everyone else... Handprints etc...

nolongeraworriedmummy · 21/10/2008 21:31

ooh reindeer in dorset, my dc would like to see real reindeer.

I like the sponsor an animal idea.

I was looking at a second hand asus notebook thingy but they all seem sold out.

I drive past reindeer evry day, dd still loves looking at them (we are in dorset)

A hot air ballon ride would be lovely.

something from Insect Lore - I wouldn't like it butit seems kids go mad for them:

I'm a bit sceptical that she really has it all. There are a gazillion toys out there. I have been told that my dc's playroom is like a branch of Hamleys - but there is plently of stuff they haven't got (although I would freely admit they don't need it). Why can't you ask the parents of said child for suggestions?

nolongeraworriedmummy · 22/10/2008 10:36

I asked said parents and they said oh shes got everything we can think of you decide, I am only helping out grandparents as they are getting on.

She is a bit of a spoilt brat and gets everything she demands HMC and that coming from someone else whos dc room looks like Hamley also.

I am loving the butterfly bungalow! But then I am not supposed to be looking for MORE presents for my dc on this thread
