My youngest ds will be 6 months at Christmas so he won't be getting much this Christmas as he'll be unaware but the problem is that his older brothers(believers aged 8 and 6) aren't unaware - i.e they still believe in FC, so how do I explain that Ethan only has some spoons, a new bib and some stacking cups? Won't they think that FC is being very unfair? I suppose I could write a letter to them from FC explaining about his policy on presents for babies under 1!!

Any ideas?

Oh I forgot to add the title, can I add one now?

i have always told mine that santa doesn't really get very much for babies who are less than one.

Worked for me.

Lauriefairycake · 21/10/2008 20:35

'only children who believe in fc get presents' - covers everything including baby too young to believe anything

debinaustria · 21/10/2008 20:39

like it Laurie

Write them the letter to open Xmas morning using Lauriefairycake's explanation? Adds to the excitement then, they get an 'actual' letter from the Man himself!

Ohforfoxsake · 21/10/2008 21:07

Well, the baby could hardly do a letter to Santa, perhaps they could add a few bits (under your guidance ) to theirs?

I've never found it an issue, the older ones are usually to busy with their own.

Ohforfoxsake · 21/10/2008 21:08

I can still remember how exited I was when Santa left us a letter. I totally believed it and thought I was the luckiest little girl alive!

lucysmam · 21/10/2008 21:18

Or, there must be a site out there where you can download and print a letter from Santa for free?

Get them to 'post' a letter to santa (leave somewhere special?) & then you read & reply & explain about the baby not getting a lot because he is too young to understand or believe or whatever you want. You could even post the reply so it looks more authentic, say if you visit family further afield before xmas

(carried away now I'm actually looking forward to Xmas, sorry )

Last year whilst we were out walking on Christmas Eve, Santa dropped a dvd down the chimney with a letter to the boys on his way to other countries for them to watch that night - this year we could add a bit about baby - thanks everyone

i love Christmas too

ps- any ideas for a good Christmas film for Christmas eve? Loved The santa Clause, santa claus 2 wasn't as good though, is no 3 worth watching?

I personally love Miracle on 34th Street. But I'm a sucker for soppy stuff like that.

My oh's suggestion is . . . . . . National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation not sure they'd get it though

debinaustria · 21/10/2008 22:14

I love Miracle on 34th too , my dh took me to see it at the cinema on my birthday before children (I have a Christmas birthday - 23rd)

The thing I miss living here is not seeing all those corny Christmas films on British tv in the run up

OP posts:
lucysmam · 21/10/2008 22:17

lol, corny is the right word! You're not missing much, honest. Lots of dodgy re-runs of the same old thing yet again

ooooooh, Home Alone??? Have they seen that? Always makes me giggle!

debinaustria · 21/10/2008 22:23

I was thinking of that actually, great minds think alike eh?

OP posts:
lucysmam · 21/10/2008 22:26

lol, it's gotta be better than my oh's idea!

They'd probably have a good giggle . . . just beware of oil drums coming flying downstairs at you or roller skates left on the stairs after they watch it

xx

debinaustria · 21/10/2008 22:34

I'll remember it was your suggestion if they do!!! lol

Night, off to bed now, we're an hour ahead of you

Make him a big box of ballons so he has something big for them to help him open, they may not even notice then!

debinaustria · 22/10/2008 22:45

lovely idea about the balloons - I kept a big box today for Christmas

Could you also add his name on any family board game type presents, one day he will be old enough!

debinaustria · 23/10/2008 21:53

keep those ideas coming 2foggy - any suggestions for a good board game?

The old classics are still my favourite, like Twister and Connect 4 and Battleship.

Dont forget to wrap up some clothes too, and a bath sponge and bubblebath like matey.
