You can get to it here.

The booking fee goes to Make a Wish foundation and I understand from friends that it is really great for kids. I have booked tickets to take ds .

Hamley's is about half way down Regent Street - take the bus from Selfridges and get off on Regent Street. It is only about 15 mins walk, but with Christmas shoppers, it could take much longer, it depends how busy things are.

From Trafalgar square, walk to Covent Garden and take in the sights there, always very christmassy, they usually have nice market stalls.

Somerset House, by the Thames, seems to have an outdoor ice skating rink every year, and are probably planning it this year, so that could be something to do as well - although not for the 2.5 year old.

Will try and think of other things.
