Mixed nuts anyone?

EachPeachPearMum · 16/10/2008 15:32

I had never heard of cheese balls either... but everyone my post-natal thread told me last christmas that they were fabulous!
Hi Flame!

re Liqueurs- DH has just made me buy him some along with turkish delight(3 for 2 at M&S) last weekend! He has eaten 2 boxes already.... I think they're disgusting.

We never buy dates or figs.

Botbot · 16/10/2008 15:53

Don't forget the massive plastic vat of salted peanuts.

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 16/10/2008 16:00

M&S chocolate coated nougat is very nice

mashedbanana · 16/10/2008 19:24

CherryChapstick · 16/10/2008 19:27

DS2 adores cheese football and insists on them.

cherryliquormonster · 16/10/2008 20:48

i love dates. cant stand cheesy footballs but then dont like any cheesy crisps except cheddars.

yummybunnymummy · 16/10/2008 21:14

my mum knew I'd met the right man when he confessed to loving eat me dates..and he still is the right man.
But nothing would make me eat them...or chessy footballs but I think I'm developing snobby food attitudes...

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 16/10/2008 21:22

We always have Stone's Ginger wine - mmmm!
I also always try Bailey's and remember how sickly it is !

MrsMattie · 17/10/2008 11:17

LOL

My mum always bought all these things.

I must admit, although I don't buy the same stuff, I do completely over-shop on the snack front and then only me (Mrs Comfort Eeater) actually eats it all

Lilymaid · 17/10/2008 11:29

Orange and lemon slices (the soft sweets, not the healthy fruit).

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 17/10/2008 12:08

"Cheeselets don't taste the same these days" says my mum every Christmas, and every Christmas she still buys a small vat of them, along with Twigletts - mmmmmm.

And you must have a box of Ferrero Rocher on display on the coffee table

What is Eggnog exactly? Always wondered and was too ashamed to ask anyone in RL

Hubbie and son eat cheesy footballs. We take stones out of dates and replace with marzipan - Yumm!

Botbot · 17/10/2008 16:07

Eggnog is just what we used to call advocaat. Have googled though, and it seems there's a whole eggnog world out there to explore.

I think I'm going to be sick.

freeview15 · 17/10/2008 16:11

Cheesy footballs are fab - but funily enough I only buy them at Christmas!

My mum will always have dates sitting around at Christmas, just incase someone is feeling constipated, I supose!
Surely nobody actually buys chocolate liqures for themselves...arent' they always won in a raffle, or given as a gift by old folk. And only consumed by teenagers desperate for a tipple.

Tidey · 17/10/2008 17:20

Bailey's, creamy.

My nan always had a box of dates every Christmas which nobody ate. I wonder if she bought a new one each year or if it was the same one that she just left on the sideboard when it got to December.

ClaireDeLoon · 17/10/2008 17:31

I love dates!

elsiepiddock · 17/10/2008 17:34

My dcs are obsessed with dates, have to buy them year round though.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 17/10/2008 17:35

Matchmakers
Twiglets
pickled cabbage
Horrid cheeses
Schloer

All bought by my family because you have to.
