Check out www.laplandnewforest.co.uknear Bournemouth.

Looks like a similar idea but cheaper and maybe easier to get to for those of us down this way!!

Clearwell Caves in the Forest of Dean is supposed to be excellent at christmas - google it for pictures, it looks amazing! We will DEF be going this year!

RedOnHerHead · 02/10/2008 16:06

I just looked at the newforest one - still quite expensive for me at the moment - but maybe in the future when they are both old enough to remember it! it looks fabulous doesn't it!

Merlin · 02/10/2008 16:26

I don't work for them by the way - just saw it in the local paper and thought I would share!!!

Chocolateteapot · 02/10/2008 17:41

I am going to sleep on it for a day or two. Am trying to find a replacement for Stapehill Abbey which had become something of a tradition but they stopped it as it is up for sale.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/10/2008 18:15

Another vote for Clearwell Caves

NOT buggy friendly though

Merlin · 02/10/2008 18:17

Hey teapot see my birthday thread and have a drink with me!!!!

Is there anything similar nearer to Cambridge?

Tas1 · 02/10/2008 21:15

Just booked for December 20th. {grin}

Hope it is better than Lapland UK at Bedgebury last year. That was a real waste of money. {sad}

I went to Lapland Uk in Kent last year and it was awsum. The kids loved it. I've heard lots of people moan about the cost. When we got there the kids visited the toy shop and were given puzzles to assemble with the elves. Then they decorated gingerbread men with mrs Clause in another log cabin,visited the animals,had lunch,had stories in a teepee,met Santa and got a gift and their pics taken. It was very pretty with snow all over the cabins and forest. It was £25 per person but my kids had such a good time and lovely memories of it i don't begrudge what it cost at all !

mumoverseas · 29/10/2008 11:48

geordieminx, I'm sure I read about a fabulous place in scotland that had a reindeer farm. No idea where but maybe worth a google?

DotFox · 30/10/2008 21:37

just thought I would mention, Lapland UK this year is at Bewl Water Estate, approx 3 mins from Bedgebury and it five times the size and all the nigely bits have now gone.

Not that many tickets left though but well worth the visit.

That Bournemoth one is just down the road from the caravan park we stayed at this year.

I also would love there to be a Scotland one.

wannaBe · 30/10/2008 21:42

and 5 times the price. £75 per person at bedgebury now isn't it?

Am ve about the one near bournemouth as have read that it doesn't yet have planning permission and that the final decision isn't due until November.

RustyBear · 30/10/2008 21:43

ListersSister · 30/10/2008 22:00

squilly · 31/10/2008 10:29

Anything like this in south yorkshire at all???

Chrysanthamum · 01/11/2008 21:27

There was one in Scotland in Aviemore last year, I think it was Macdonalds hotel group. sorry I lost the link. We were really tempted but I was v pregnant so we gave it a miss. Its got reviews online but I prefer word of mouth. Its out of the question for us this year as we're too skint. i think it was about £250 for 2 nights with d b&b. Let me know if you go []

AbbaFan · 01/11/2008 21:43
