& if so what is it? (nosey, sorry )

Does a fiver each seem tight? Just I've been skint for ages but saved a little bit each week & that's what my present shopping money breaks down to per person

TIA

We have 20 nieces/nephews and 2 godchildren that we buy for so I try and limit it to £5 per child, managed that for about 10 yrs but have now increased to £8 on average. If I see the perfect pressie for a child but it is less than £8 I will get it anyway and not top up-that means can spend over for the others if I see the right thing.
We always get for my parents-in-law and my brothers-in-law apart from the one who decided not to buy for us a few years ago. He and his wife decided not to buy for us any more and although it seems weird not to buy for them when I do for the other two(who are divorced and spend every other Xmas with us) it also seems not right to keep buying for them unless we are actually spending Xmas with them, in which case it's a joint foodie or wine present.
I'm ashamed to say that I don't really budget for our 3 but every year am horrified at how much I end up spending and think I will def budget this year!

in our family, each adult only buys for one other adult. This year I'm organising it, so it's names out of a hat to see who buys for who. I send wish lists around with most wanted book, cd, dvd etc. Favourite perfume, chocolates, shoe size. any most wanted items and the person who's buying gets a copy of the wish list and can buy anything off there up to a total of £50. We've done it for 3 years now and it's great - saves money and means that the gifts you chose will get used. Everyone buys for the kids!

Yes we do the same in my family in Oz-there are 7 siblings and my father , stepmother and aunt. Everyone buys for the kids but it's names out of a hat to a maximum of $50(about £22). I don't take part because I live here in blighty.Feels a bit unfair to me that my in laws gets presents every year from me and DH but that's just the way it is.
