I should add I don't do a Dec 1st box so the advent calendar is a way for me to give her christmassy things to do on the run up and of course a few toys!

I got one of those personalised advent calendars you fill yourself for DD when she was 2 and have been doing it ever since. I should say that I sort of wish I hadn’t because I am rapidly running out of ideas and it is a pain to fill every year!

But the sorts of things I put in when she was 3 or 4 were: fun hairclips/bobbles, little Christmas tree ornaments and the odd tiny chocolate or sweet for some of the days. As she has got older - little rings for dress up and squishalongs (both bought in multipacks which I split and put one in each day) have been winners.

The Little Advent Fairy is a cute thing to do in Advent and doesn’t rely on chocolate everyday. There’s a book on Amazon. She does cute little things around the house and is super low effort but maximum magic and encourages kindness. Definitely worth a look. It also says in the book about the fairy adding the things to a diy advent calendar, just makes everything super special. In the past for diy calendars I’ve put in hair clips, tiny miniature toys, rubber, crayons, key rings (home bargains have cute multipacks at the mo) Have fun whatever you end up doing! :)

I was going to say Peppa Pig, my dd loved her’s she played with it for years with her other Peppa Pig stuff.

Play dough is always a good one and Vtech toot toot calendars were popular with my DDs.
