Can anyone remember when the best times for book sales are please? Not Amazon.

I remember a publisher often has a decent sale, but not which publisher and seem to recall Waterstones ir Blackwells has a 20% off type sale too. I have browsed the postscript sale but I'm after a few specific titles and will hold out I think.

I also bought her a weighted blanket last year which I put in a cat themed duvet cover and that was a hit.

If she likes small world play like my daughter it is worth keeping an eye on cat themed schleich products too that often drop in price, and you can buy individual cat models for a few pounds that make good stocking fillers.

We also have this game that was a huge hit a few years ago and is still played regularly now. It doesn’t seem widely available now but there are lots of copies on eBay.

There’s some very cute cat sticker scenes in Smyths for £2.99 think they’re OOS online but my local (Sheffield) had a shelf of them near the exit so I imagine they come in and out of stock

The Cat Crimes game by Ravensburger is good. £16.99 on Amazon but I just searched and it's only £9.99 on Lennie's Toys. I haven't bought from there so can't vouch.

Holly Webb does some beautiful stories about kittens.

Not sure if it's anywhere you could get to but York seems to have a cat thing going on. Not particularly cheap but we saw lucky cats and glow in the dark cats.

I think its the people that do the top model books do a variety of cat ones too.

A few people have mentioned about cat obsessed children. If you are Scottish I was in silverburn the other day and there is a new shop called KENJI, it’s sort of Japanese type stuff by my daughter got some cat themed pens and stationary and the prices weren’t too bad

Hi all! I've not been on these threads before, especially so "early" (I usually start about October) but loving all the help and ideas!

I have a son who will be 7 in December (two weeks before Christmas!) he is autistic and OBSESSED with Star Wars. There's some Lego I'm keeping an eye on, but what I'd love to find for him is something like a Millennium Falcon or Death Star that he can put figures in and use in his "big set up games" 🤔

We loved Lego and I got my son the millennium falcon when he was around that age. It's really difficult to build and broke easily when it was built. It's also really big for a young boy to lift and play with. He found it really frustrating. I rebuilt it for him three times. The smaller craft were much better and he spent many a happy hour making 'dioramas' with them - which sound like your son's 'big set up games'.

Oh god no I could not deal with the Lego millennium falcon 🤯

He loves the smaller sets, like the little speeders with a couple of figures etc, they're fine! He's also pointed out a Lego city police base thing that's age 7 because "I can use that as a star wars base" 🤣So I've got that marked.

I'm trying to find almost like a Playmobil equivalent of the ships, so something more solid that can fit a couple of figures. I'm sure they must exist, but maybe older ones - I might try eBay or something I think!
