Happy tears, mind you.

Their dad left us in 2020 after years of cheating in quite a spectacular way. I've nursed them through that, then his ongoing selfishness. I've remained their consistent and care. Both have gone to some dark places as they processed his behaviour.

They're now adults(21/19)

For the first time in years, my stocking is full up this morning.

They've thought about this, planned it and executed it.

What an absolutely wonderful way for them to show me they love me.

Thank you Father Christmas. Best present ever.

What amazing adults you have raised, well done all 3 of you. Have a great Christmas Day.

Poobs2022 · 25/12/2025 09:27

Ah this is lovely! Tell us what they got you!

Jellycatspyjamas · 25/12/2025 09:44

It’s so good when you realised you’ve raised your children to be thoroughly decent people.

TheendofmrY · 25/12/2025 09:52

I think I might have something in my eye now…

Merry Christmas to you OP and your lovely family.

Loloblue · 25/12/2025 10:05

Well done on being a brilliant parent. Have a lovely Christmas xxx

NervyWegovy · 25/12/2025 10:13

I'm so happy for you OP! But it's made me more nervous as we sorted presents out last night before bed with my mum and she gave us like 2-3 bags each ( we are all adults) and remarked that it's sad that it's just our stuff and that she won't have much to open.

The thing is I know she'll absolutely love what I got her as she loves war of the worlds and we went to see it in April and they advertised an ," ultimate collectors edition" full of vinyls, dvds, CDs and other stuff and it cost a lot of money, which I think is why she originally didn't get it herself. I also got her a media player that plays Vinyl and the CDs etc.

But that's still just two presents and my brother has also spent a bit but I'm dreading us with our pile and her with her few.

That's me in tears, between this thread and the one about the photo by the grave.

Young people always get a bad wrap but most are fabulous.

Well done your children.

Awww..what lovely young men. And you must be so proud of what you have achieved. Best Christmas present ever.
Enjoy the day. You deserve it

Lovely OP and pat yourself on the back, we don't always take credit for ourselves when our kids behave like this - it's not off a stone they lick it - so well done to you as well as them.

Ah this is lovely! Tell us what they got you!

It's your typical stocking stuff.

Sweets, smellies, socks.

All choices I'll use every day. And things that Santa has put in their own stockings every year.

Apparently Santa realised earlier this week that he'd missed me off the list for several years, and he was very sorry it had taken so long to notice.

I agree with you @sashh that 99.9% of young people are fabulous and decent human beings.

Well done us all for raising them, whether that's directly or indirectly.

What stopped them buying you a few bit and bobs in prior years?

Being typical teenagers?

Similar here OP, it’s just been myself and my 2 children since they were both under 2. My eldest has had lots of struggles, ASD, unable to attend school, he’s nearly 16 and has worked so hard to turn his life around. Both of my children take any work they can get. Both kids have put so much thought and bought me lovely gifts. I’m really proud of them both!

Bryonyberries · 26/12/2025 01:59

Young adult children are the best! Mine have been wonderful this year too.

Italiangreyhound · 26/12/2025 02:06

I'm so glad, I knew it was going to be tears of joy. Well done on raising some lovely people. XX

How lovely, OP! 💐 Especially after all you've been through.
