Just watched the new Christmas movie on iplayer stuffed absolutely loved it, so funny and gave Christmas magic feeling's. As a side had a cup of tea when watching and had a Aldi mini mince pie which are only 100 calories each tasted lovely and practically calories free!

Any of you kind souls want to recommend more Christmas movies and snacks, just going to open a bottle of red 🍷 dh now making us a mini large buffet.

Hope you are all enjoying the lead up to Christmas 🎄 and yes I will be arsing the whole bottle tonight 😉

Whatever you do, DO NOT watch ‘Dear Santa’ - it’s the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Not funny, bad language, crass and the ending was so awful and pretty upsetting. I have no idea what Jack Black was thinking 😕

Really pleased to see the Grinch cartoon version movie from Prime for £ to Netflix, we watched this today and loved it as always. That Christmas is really lovely and now a firm favourite in our house.

The Holdovers on Prime( I think you might have to pay for it) is a lovely film about boys at a US private boarding school who have to stay at the school over Christmas as their families dont want / cant have them home and the grumpy teacher who has to look after them. Its not funny but moving .

Watched on Netflix recently A merry little EX Mas and my secret Santa (think Mrs Doubtfire).

Your Christmas or mine on Prime- really good English Christmas movie

PeonyPatch · 23/12/2025 19:48

The Holdovers is very good.

I plan to watch Goodbye June on Christmas Eve on Netflix. Not sure it counts as a Christmas film though, but good cast.

Just put on its a wonderful life to have on in the background while I do last minute cleaning bits. Not a Christmas movie we watched the new Dracula last night it was good although found the ending a bit Confused for some weird reason I hadn't seen the last Christmas special of Motherland so watched that last night, wasn't expecting it to be so emotional made me cry. Watched a few others this week will update if I remember which ones.

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas 🎄
