Hi, my folks have asked this year if we can just do token gifts- I'm happy with that.
Budget of £10 ish
Mum has asked for bones for the dogs!
I will do that but would like to get something else for her.

No idea what to get Dad, he had myocarditis & heart attack a month ago, no lasting damage thankfully. Booze is out as given up.
They have all they need /want..

Both outdoorsy, not into smellies/ personal care stuff. Think rustic!!

Any ideas before i crack up?!

Waterproof phone pouch?

foraging guide book?

paracord bracelet / key chain?

abdnhiker · 19/12/2025 17:44

Books? I love a book for a gift and if it’s something I’ve already read or don’t like, it’s not the end of the world and gets passed on an it’s interesting seeing what people pick for you.

Zen88 · 19/12/2025 17:44

Would they like some gloves /handwarmers for cold weather?

Eviebeans · 19/12/2025 17:48

Hat or scarves for walking with the dogs- a flask to take hot drinks in

Eviebeans · 19/12/2025 17:49

Some nice food items

Miranda65 · 19/12/2025 17:51

Go to the charity shop and get a few paperbacks?

ToadRage · 19/12/2025 18:04

I made a scented candle for my grandma. I had a candle-making kit but I imagine wax and wicks aren't hugely expensive (or you can melt up some old candles you already have) i bought some essential oil from Sainsbury's and a sugar bowl from a charity shop. Not expensive and home-made so special.

Solar lights for the garden

personalised tree decoration

Chinsupmeloves · 19/12/2025 18:34

Good walking socks?

madameimadam · 19/12/2025 18:41

Yes!! I’ve got this..

I did a secret Santa for £10. I made an online calendar where you can upload 12 pics and change the colours / fonts / layout.
Brilliant present - thoughtful and very cheap.

Interesting non-fiction magazine and a bar of chocolate to go with it.

RandomUsernameHere · 19/12/2025 18:49

Do either of them like gardening? Was thinking gardening gloves or something else for the garden. Maybe skincare or toiletries for your mum.

REP22 · 19/12/2025 18:54

Some bird feeders + bird food for the garden, along with a little book of common British birds to be seen in gardens? I got this for my dad when he retired and it was a great hit. Spotting the birds on the feeder through the window brought him (and my mum, after he died) a great deal of pleasure.

Moveoverdarlin · 19/12/2025 18:58

Bird feeder, good socks for walking boots or wellies, nice calendar, 2026 diary, fleece throw.

OneOfEachPlease · 19/12/2025 19:21

One of your favourite books for each of them (a different one for each of them, obviously) and a note in the front of telling them why you liked it so much. And or handwarmers for long walks!

This! Lovely gift

NewYearNewNameWhoKnew · 19/12/2025 21:18

Posher version of food/hot drinks he likes anyway- jar of fancy chutney and expensive coffee for example.
If he is dog walking then head torch, hand warmers or a light up dog collar would be useful.

Anxietybummer · 19/12/2025 21:19

We recently bought a little book with the best 50 country walks in our county. I actually love it 🤣

99bottlesofkombucha · 19/12/2025 21:41

do You know why op? If it’s just thinking about time and effort of shopping when they don’t need anything then of course, but if it’s all budget and I had enough money I’d still be very happy to give them some nice food / tickets out etc, I wouldn’t just go I won’t get you anything because you can’t afford to buy much?
