Coffee machine help please

DH has been a literally angel this year and I want to surprise him with a coffee machine but not sure what’s the best one as I don’t drink coffee.

I know he would like a bean to cup one, I was looking at one from Phillips but think the ninja one looks good too. Quite a big price difference though.

Would anyone be able to recommend which one to get please? He usually drinks latte when we are out. Budget is £500, he will be blown away!

Thank you

We bought a Ninja Luxe in the Black Friday sale. We are so happy with it!

We have the Sage Barista too and the coffee connoisseurs in our house love it. I'm a Philistine and stick to my old Nespresso 😊

We got this one…Smeg BCC12EGMUK 1.4L Bean to Cup Coffee Machine, Grinding Function, Drip Tray, Emerald Green

I have a Delonghi Dinamica Plus which is a super automatic, ie has a milk carafe so you can just press the right button and not have to steam the milk yourself. (Single mum, aint got time for that).

Saying that, I do normally just use the coffee function as I prefer it black. Coffee machine milky drinks never seem hot enough for me and I cba with heating cups first and all that jazz.

I spent around £600 on it two years ago and would replace it with similar in a heartbeat.

I’ve now got a Siemens one which will be outside your budget but I previously had this. My husband gave it to a friend and it’s now about 10 years old and still going strong

Sage barista express

Flamingmentalcats · 20/12/2025 10:37

Our first one was a Phillips, fab machine and easy to use and clean. Now got a Delonghi again, good and easy to clean. It all goes in the dishwasher and the milk caraffe is easily cleaned too.
Then find a decent roastery, the beans make all the difference

I too have a sage barista express which is about 6 years old and still going strong. Bloody love it - easy to use and clean and makes great coffee. I like the fact it’s quite manual so you feel like a real barista!

Sage barista express I bought it for my husband a fortnight ago - it is Devine !!

Cupboarddoorknob · 22/12/2025 06:40

We’ve had our sage barista for 3 years and if it died tomorrow I’d go straight out and buy it again.

i have a DeLonghi Magnifica. It is a thing of beauty and joy.
I have said before on similar threads, if the house was burning down I would have this under one arm and the cat under the other as I am thrown over a firefighter's shoulder.
