We’ve got three teens, and although I always expect them to lie in now we’re still up at 7!

We’ve done a mixture of two meals (brunch, late roast) and three (breakfast, big roast, picky tea) in the past, and I can’t quite work out what I want to do this year.

We don’t go to church. There will be a dog walk at some point, maybe two. We do all still like a board game, and a film.

How does Christmas Day work in your house, timings wise?

We're at home this year, with family staying. Vague plan for the day:
Stocking opening for (teenage) DCs, probably around 8am.
Late breakast around 9/9.30
Christmas lunch main course around 1.30/2pm
Out for a walk if weather is decent
Christmas pudding, coffee etc around 3.30/4
Cheese and crackers, fruit, cake available if anyone wants something to eat later

At least that's the ideas. In teality...

We have two dc - aged 13 and 22 - so they do sleep in fairly late! We open presents when they get up, usually around 11ish, then have a sort of brunch (hash browns, eggs, fry up thing) and then just relax until dinner around 4-5pm. We have picky stuff in the evenings, usually everyone is very full from dinner.

We have stockings at 7am, Christmas Porridge after for breakfast. Christmas Dinner will be 1.30pm, and after everything is washed up & put away it’s Christmas Tree Presents Time. A light supper, maybe Welsh Rarebit, in the evening around 6pm.

-Children play with toys.
-Light lunch
-Maybe a boardgame or a walk.
-4:30 Start prepping dinner and decorating the table.
-6pm starters
-6:30pm dinner

We eat at 1.
Wash up and relax, watch Kings Speech, go for walk.

In the morning we do stockings, get up when ever, presents when have had breakfast and dressed. Presents spread out in between enjoying them or watching Christmas TV, or cooking.

This year my plan is 🤞🤞 fancy hot chocolate and croissants for breakfast. The Christmas dinner will be in then open presents while its cooking. Christmas dinner around 1-1.30 pm. Then watch a film or two in the afternoon. Supper of cold meats, crisps and picky bits about 7.30 pm or whenever anyone is hungry. My eldest son is cooking the Christmas dinner while I supervise 🤞🤪

We don't have a precise plan, other than our meal will be 1-1.30pm, and I guess my Mum will want to watch the Kings Speech at 3pm. Guess it'll be opening stockings in our bedroom, breakfast (we're actually happy with a normal breakfast, but may have last minute guests so will add crossiants). Food prep, start cooking, open presents, lunch. Anyone who wants can join me in a walk roughly 4pm, DH wants to play on the wii. Our last guest will turn up sometime between 6pm-8pm, but we'll just have tea when we fancy. Probably be playing games before that, but then we'll be all be joining in with something later.

Ooh a fair few “3 mealers” in here! I really can’t decide this year.

Funnily enough I was talking to ds17 about this the other day, he said Christmas Day is the only day it’s justified to wake up early. Then proceeded to ask me what time can they (him and dd13) wake us up… he then suggested 7.30 and I jumped straight in that because in the past it’s been anywhere between 5.30 and 6.30.
I love it though, even though they both know he’s not real, they still love the magic of Christmas ❤️

we usually do stockings first and then tree presents, breakfast about 9, then about 3 we have the dinner, everyone retires to thier rooms for a bit, then we play games and have snacks in the evening 🤪
