Knock-off Baileys

Has Asda stopped selling their own Irish country cream? I’ve not seen it for ages and it’s Christmas staple in our house. I preferred it to actual Bailey’s. I’ve had Aldi’s version before but don’t have easy access to a store.
If Asda has discontinued it where else does a good knock-off?

Aldi or Lidl usually have a decent dupe for a fraction of the price

Lidl Deluxe Irish Cream Liqueur is eleven pounds for one litre

The Lidl one is nice. Just don't be tempted by the fancy flavoured ones, they are very very sweet.

In Bargain Booze they told me that the proper Baileys is made with whiskey and the knock off stuff with white wine!

mondaytosunday · 18/12/2025 15:29

@rachelhereit says on the bottle from Lidl it’s got Irish whiskey in it.

Someone I know (tight) kept going on and on about how great the Aldi version was. I fell for it but it was crap. Nothing like the original. I guess nothing tastes as good as saving a few extra quid to some people.

I mean 'Pastures', it's cheap as chips. Available in b and m bargains, bargain booze, your local mini mart and anywhere else that's crap! 😀

We get all of our Christmas booze from Lidl, their Irish cream in my opinion is nicer than Bailey's.

You can get 1l of Baileys in all the big supermarkets atm for £10, with a loyalty card

HereLiesBetelgeuse · 18/12/2025 18:25

The aldi specially selected one is made with whiskey and tastes the same as baileys. The cheaper one is made with wine
It was £10 a litre on Amazon prime recently for the real stuff
