DD was born 10:10 on Christmas morning 21 years ago, she was 10 days late so I didn’t care what day it was 😂.
This year she made us proud joining the Royal Navy.
This year she won’t be home this Christmas, not because she’s deployed/working but for she’s spending it on a beach in Phuket.
We’ll obviously miss her but she’s only young once and needs to live her life
We’re also mindful it will be the 21st anniversary of the Boxing Day tsunami in Thailand

At least no one will forget her birthday 😊

Quite the opposite, DD is regularly forgotten about as people are so busy with Xmas!

My ds1 was a boxing day baby. The only time we did joint gifts was an xbox which was too expensive for a single occasion. It doesn't seem to bother him. He's 35 this time.
But he was convinced for years that his birthday came first in the year no matter how many times we tried to tell him he wouldn't have it. I'm not sure he doesn't still believe it.

My mum is January. Nobody wants to do anything for that - everyone is broke and on a diet after Christmas.
I was born in late January. Gifts look like Christmas ones rewrapped or from the sales, every one is skint as December wages paid early, and the days are usually short and damp.

My DS was due on 25 th December but came early on 20 th. He loves it as everyone is usually finished work

It’s my dd 22nd birthday today. She loves all the lights and atmosphere and I’ve always kept it very separate in terms of celebrating and gifts

We were married on 18 December 2004. We went away for a few days and came home early after that, donating our spending money to the charity.

we couldn’t have children, then adopted. Went on to have two, don’t ask. But the fourth, was born in our 18th anniversary and is 3 this week.

she was due Christmas Day.

DD will be 19 on Wednesday, I’m making the decorations for her cake now, inspiration image below! She loves being a Christmas baby and always told me that she liked to imagine that the lights were all put up just for her. We’ve made a big deal of her birthday over the years to keep it separate from Christmas.

Beautiful cake!

Well DS was 18 yesterday. A big birthday. Guess what, forgotten about. Not even a card from his paternal Aunt who lives just down the road. DH spoke to her on the phone to wish her Merry Christmas and she said that she had bought a card but can’t remember where she put it. Same old, same old.

Belated birthday wishes to your DS. It was my 60th yesterday and neither of my sisters (1 who lives just a 3 minute walk away), acknowledged it, not even a text.

@Leavmealone Happy birthday for yesterday! I hope you managed to treat yourself in one way or another. 💐🥳🎁🍹
I’ve lowered my expectations over the years and let it go over my head and tell myself that they’re not worth worrying about. It most definitely says a lot about them.
It’s actually my 60th next week on the 1st so am also aware what it’s like to be an after thought.

DD was due in the new year but decided to come on 15th December this year. She’s only 11 days old but very hopeful she falls into the camp of not hating her December birthday as she grows up.

DS has his birthday at the end of January and so far hasn’t had a blue January birthday (he’s 4 so there is time no doubt). Other DD has hers early October so we’ve got 3 cold birthdays to look forward to!
