What genre do you enjoy?

TheGodOfSmallPotatoes · 09/12/2025 22:32

Does it have to be books that came out in 2025 or just books we have read this year? I feel like I’ll never read all the books I want to 😭

What genre do you enjoy?

In case you enjoy a bit of everything, here are a few options: Alchemised, Never the Roses, Mirror Girls, Manhunt, and Delicate Condition. A true mix of genres. Not all came out in 2025.

@TheGodOfSmallPotatoes the number of books ever published is approximately 130 million, if you read one a week your entire life you will have read less than 0.1%!! I feel the exact same, I have a To Be Read mountain, not just a pile!

I’ve mainly read non-fiction this last year, but I did enjoy Vox. The author’s name escapes me I’m afraid.

Ooo thanks! And thanks for all suggestions - doesn’t have to be strictly published in 2025 ☺️

Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

A few years old but fantastic book if you’ve not read it.

CharlotteCChapel · 10/12/2025 10:47

By far The Hail Mary project by Andy Weir, I didnt want it to end.

K0OLA1D · 10/12/2025 10:53

Alchemised has probably been my best read this year.

I have enjoyed loads though.

The Jay Kristoff Trilogy Empire of the Damned is my favourite series by far. The last one come out last month

theressomanytinafeysicouldbe · 10/12/2025 10:54

Holly - Stephen King
The Rob Rinder books are good
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow - Gabrielle Zevin
Hunting Evil - Chris Carter, really good, although I wish I had know this was a series of books, I would have read in order

luckylavender · 10/12/2025 10:55

The Story of a Heart - Rachel Clarke. I feel it will never leave me

The Bee Sting - Paul Murray

Its brilliant isnt it? Shame he didnt win the Booker for it. Have you read what did win the booker that year? I totally understand why Prophet Song (Paul Lynch) won. But be warned, quite a different book from the Bee Sting.

Rowena191 · 11/12/2025 13:20

Square of Sevens by Laura Shepherd-Robinson
The House of Doors byTan Twan Eng
The Labyrinth of the Spirits by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
