Does anyone else dislike secret santa. We did one and i took part at work. I didn't like what I got

I do think it’s the gift buyer who should be the one finding out- not the recipient having to tell all the team their individual preferences.

Yeah I hate it. Done it for years with various different work teams and never received anything I particularly liked. I always just want a paperback novel - 2nd hand is fine - something they’ve read and enjoyed. I’m vocal about this. Never happens - I always just get Baylis and Harding bollocks which I don’t like.

I think a simple form that people fill out when they sign up would be helpful.
For example -
Alcohol - Yes/No
Dietary Restrictions - Yes/No
Allergies/Intolerances - Yes/No
If yes for the last two then people can just write the relevant information.
