DH would love a very soft, cosy dressing gown for Christmas.

My DH has only asked for one present this year-a super soft, cosy dressing gown. I’ve had a look online but wondered if anyone had bought one and could vouch for the softness and cosiness. Thanks.

Oodie, they are amazing and really a decent size and wash really well. I was surprised by the quality and have bought one for my mum. I got the evee Pokemon one for me to match my evee Pokemon crocs 🥰😂

I love my white company dressing gown. My husband has an ancient Guinness branded fleece one, think it was from Debenhams. Does he specifically want a towelling one or is he not fussed on material? M&S do some nice fluffy ones.

thedogdaysareover51 · 04/12/2025 14:50

@ToadRagehe’s not fussed on material. He loves the Ted Baker one he got me a few years ago and it’s lovely with a soft, velvety feeling.
I’ve had a closer look at Oodie ones and while I think they look lovely and soft, I don’t think the thick arms will work. He’s lifted weights all his adult life and has huge arms and shoulders so I’m not sure he’ll be able to lower his arms in these dressing gowns! He bought me a proper Oodie one year and I had to give it to DS as I hated the arms too. They were huge!

Nobody has mentioned it OP but are you prepared for the DRESSING GOWN OF DOOM that will inevitable follow?

I have had two borg dressing gowns from Next in the past two years and they are blissfully soft and cosy. The men's version looks the same (just a bit shorter and more manly!)

I have just bought this for DH and can confirm it's very soft, fluffy and cosy. I'm tempted to keep it for myself!

Thanks everyone. My DH bought me a Ted Baker dressing gown a few years ago (before it went bust) and it’s so soft! It’s like a soft velvet rather than fleece. Would love to get him one like this so I’ll try TKMaxx.
the Oodie ones looks lovely too.

Edited

Did Ted Baker go bust? I used to love their kids clothes when mine were little,

CurlewKate · 04/12/2025 18:07

Have you seen Piglet in Bed? For some reason I can’t link-but they are lovely.

Broop · 04/12/2025 19:28

I second this, really warm, really soft and snuggly and extremely high quality. I have the women’s version, and all the males in my family have been given the men’s version over the years!

Get the red one for yourself, it's gorgeous! https://www.next.co.uk/style/su700388/h14866

White company velour. They last better than any synthetic high street ones. The comfiest and best!

fruitypancake · 04/12/2025 20:46

Just bought my DS one in Next - it is incredibly soft and lovely

I ca Vouch for Next dressing gowns. I bought a Scion gown last year, so warm and snug, there’s probably a version for men.

Have a look at The White Company!

PigletJohn · 04/12/2025 21:58

I had a velour one from M&S.

The arms were a bit long for me.

Good idea to take some measurements before you go.

Horses7 · 04/12/2025 23:36

M&S in blue - it’s very thick and soft (in fact almost too thick) Twice as thick as Asda and others but then it’s pricier too.

Horses7 · 04/12/2025 23:37

Ps it’s husband’s not mine.

LucyLoo1972 · 05/12/2025 02:18

Bedfolk look really nice but I’ve not felt them

EleanorMc67 · 05/12/2025 03:25

These. They're terry towelling but with a really plush velour finish to the outside (cotton with polyester). They're long, thick, come in lots of colours & are unisex. My boyfriend & I got them in two different colours a couple of Christmases ago & they are honestly just wonderful - I love them!

The Matalan ones feel really soft. Has anyone any experience of them?

DaysofHoney · 05/12/2025 18:46

Ploh. They only ship from Singapore, but it’s the best ever. Like a cloud.

thedogdaysareover51 · 05/12/2025 19:48

These are all great suggestions thanks. I’ve ordered him a velour one from the White Company and one from Marks Autograph. I’ll feel them both and return the scratchiest one!
