What kinds of garlands do you put on your tree?

Looking for garland inspiration for the tree. Where did you get yours?

Also are there any eco-friendly tinsel type of options? I love the way those types of garlands make the tree look 'fuller'

Not quite the answer you're looking for but I use thick, wired gift ribbons between the branches

That's a good shout actually, hadn't thought of it. Thank you!

Beads. They last forever (that is, I use strings of them that are over 30 years old) and look better than tinsel, so even though they're plastic I'm happy with them.

I actually love beads, I just never felt they 'filled' the tree in the same way as tinsel but you've given me an idea to use a few strands together.

I have some of those berries in small bunches, and chuck those on. One year I had velvet ready made bows, and added those. A natural approach is to find some rose hips and chuck on a few of the berried branches.

White pom poms. You can make them very quickly with a pom pom maker in front of the telly and they fill the gaps nicely.

I use beads quite a lot. I've also used recycled sari bunting, paper garlands, and strings of pompoms in the past.

Popcorn strings! My husband and I sit and make about 12 metres of it to go around the tree every year 🥰

I also use beads that I’ve had for years. I think some came from my mums house and may be around the same age as me!

Beads are fairly unobtrusive themselves, but they add a muted sparkle and reflection of lights as well as echoing the colours of other decorations, and being linear distract the eye from any wires from fairy lights.

And I'll have you know that a pal has designated me 'the artistic one' in our group. I think that was mainly a way to bamboozle me into being the one climbing up and down to decorate a 'tree' we're putting together, but I might as well own it.

I have some felted "beads" bought years ago in the sale from Graham and Green
