I have lots of relatives who buy for my children who I like to give a little something with a Christmas card…but there are quite a lot of them!

I have previously done panettones (around the £11 mark) or bought a couple of cases of wine and split them up- but just looking for a bit of inspiration.

No allergies, all drink, or have said they appreciate having bottles to take to a party at short notice- I don’t have any time to bake.

Budget around a tenner!

Soap
Socks
Candle
Hand cream
Book
Shower gel
Body lotion
Gloves
Crocheted hat
Scarf
Tea/coffee selection
Chocolates
Cheese

All inoffensive things, all things I have been given (and largely don't want) and can be put to use, or regifted/charity shopped.

I am in the "token gift recipient" category. I don't mind. The "significant" things I want, I wouldn't want anyone else to buy for me anyway, either too expensive or I'm too particular about what I'd like.

I would get a really beautiful glass Christmas tree ornament.

Lots of fab ideas on this thread!

Prelim · 22/11/2025 20:33

Port and Stilton is always a winner for me!!

Nice ground coffee and cafetiere?

I have a moka pot, so do lots of people. Most people already have the coffee making thing they want?

Port and Stilton is always a winner for me!!

I'd love that

DeborahVance · 22/11/2025 20:38

It it helps, token gifts that I like receiving are socks, chocolates, hand cream, pot plant.

I’m assuming they like chillis ! Nice gift.

I definitely think that edibles are the way to go. (And by edibles I mean biscuits, chocolates etc, not as a poster on another thread was insisting that edibles only referred to particular recreational drugs 🤣).

I agree. Things to eat and drink. I don't want any things for the house, I'd only give then to the second hand shop. I have all the mugs I need. Hate candles. Have very strong taste in decoration. So something ephemeral like food and drink is perfect

Also, I prefer a tiny amount of an expensive thing more than a lot of a cheap thing. So a little box of 3 very nice chocolates, lovely. A big box of cadburys, yuk.

mrssnowfairy · 22/11/2025 20:46

i do homemade christmas chutney + some posh crackers or chocolate or something

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 22/11/2025 20:47

Those lovely jars of fruit in booze.

saffglass · 22/11/2025 20:47

Usual just foody stuff or if I know their colour scheme and taste maybe a nice individual bauble for their tree if I see something I think they would like.

mommyandmore · 22/11/2025 20:48

Scratch card or lotto ticket

Port and Stilton is always a winner for me!!

I had a mini Waitrose one as a Secret Santa one year. The BEST ever.

TartanMammy · 22/11/2025 20:52

A friend of mine has a business making fudge (she is really very good!) and she's doing lovely Xmas selection boxes for £12-£16.
I'd like to be given something like that as it's quite a luxurious treat, much better than supermarket chocolate!

TartanMammy · 22/11/2025 20:53

A cheese (in wax so need for fridge), chutney and 'artisan' oatcakes in a nice gift bag.

Diamond22 · 22/11/2025 20:54

We have a local charity that does calendars every year with nice photography that make great gifts and added bonus of raising money for the charity 😀

TranquilWater · 22/11/2025 20:56

A lovely decoration for the Christmas tree
Crémante de Loire / Bourgogne
Most people seem to like Chablis
Baileys (often on offer around now)
Nice chocolate
Luxury shortbread
Nice pen
Home recipe binder, someone gave me one of these and it’s been so well used.
I love the idea of exchanging books and chocolate, as the Finns are said to do at Christmas. In my ideal world, this would be a 2nd hand book from Oxfam and one of the nice chocolate bars they have there.

drspouse · 22/11/2025 21:12

Chocolates, jar of something nice.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 22/11/2025 21:50

Been given these animal-themed socks and they seem really good quality. Come in a little box with paw prints for £11.99. Less without.

I would love a bottle of extra virgin organic olive oil.

TokenGinger · 22/11/2025 23:03

An M&S tin of shortbread for £5.
