Gifts for teen boys

I have 2 dd's (13 & 18) and 2 ds (20 & 15). The girls are so easy to buy for but the boys are really tricky. The girls enjoy makeup and skincare bits so it's easy to do a stocking and some "filler" presents (they get a stocking each and 5 tree presents which includes 1 main present).

Main presents are sorted and the boys are more expensive than the girls so their other gifts needs to balance. I'm finding the 15 year old particularly tricky to buy for. So far he has:

Phone (main gift)
Golf fleece and t-shirt
Sports holdall
Jeans
Golf glove
Golf tees
Deodorant
Socks
Pants
Lego car
Book
Chocolate Santa
Chocolate coins
Sweets

I need a few other bits especially for his stocking but I don't buy tat. Can anyone inspire me please.

Water bottle, sliders, powerbank, packs of noodles, ramen bowl, posh deodorant (i got a Boss one), shower gel, rude golf balls.

beasmithwentworth · 14/11/2025 08:31

@Lurkee14 I bought one of these last year but obviously didn’t get the right one as even though it was adjustable I still couldn’t get it to fit! Going to try again this year. Would you happen to know which one you got please?

fourelementary · 14/11/2025 08:35

Paralettes (easier than pull up bars to use and store!)
keyring torch with own door key
smelly bananas to put in shoes or boots (or other deodoriser)
fiddle toy or rubix cube
air pod cleaning kit
sports socks or waterproof socks for golfer
skin care for men set

I think his list sounds great @Daphnedaydream so roughly how much more are you wanting to get? Is it a number or an amount ?

Daphnedaydream · 14/11/2025 08:50

It's more to bulk it out a bit as the girls seem to have lots of "bits". They are so much easier to buy for!

My 16yo DS is a golfer so just adding a few bits I’ve got for him…
Ninja golf tee holder (might qualify as tat but he’ll find it quite fun!)
Happy Gilmore golf towel
Mini golf club cleaning brush
Golf club cleaning kit
Bumper-sized bag of lake balls (he still loses quite a lot so he definitely needs quantity rather than quality!)

Other stocking fillers…
Takeaway dice
Chilli plant in a can
Anker charger cable with alternating head
Tiger balm

I tend to buy stocking fillers like a pack of Top Trumps (in a topic he's interested in) or similar style pack, a belt (rolled up), those chocolate "pizza" slices, key ring with decorative fob, a suitcase luggage tag (preferably with a plane on as he loves aviation and flying), driving theory items like the flashcards, a hot drinks cup for taking to college, Christmas socks, a 4 ink colour pen, bag of chocolate-coated honeycomb, funny coaster for his bedroom, sleep earbuds, a few Lindt truffles of a flavour he likes (they fill up any little gaps!)

I totally agree with you about buying presents for girls, it's waaaaaaaaaay easier than buying for boys once they're no longer little kids preferring toys... 😫

Tryingatleast · 14/11/2025 13:51

Looks like you’ve enough tbh! Not meant in a bad way but looks well enough

Comedycook · 14/11/2025 13:53

I tend to buy stuff they'll need throughout the year anyway....so pants, socks, toiletries, plain t shirts, pjs

BangingOn · 14/11/2025 21:24

I’m trying to avoid stuff for the sake of stuff, so have bought bulk versions of some of DS’s favourite treat food and drink- 1kg bag of hot chocolate flakes, pack of 12 chocolate milks etc. He will love these, they look suitably impressive wrapped up and will get used.

itsgettingweird · 14/11/2025 21:31

My da loved a key ring tool kit at that age!

puncture repair kit if he cycles.

Rechargeable batteries and charger

hand warmers if he goes outside to do sport a lot

Wash bag with mini toiletries if he’s sporty

Florin · 14/11/2025 21:41

Speaker for the changing room at school so they can blast tunes. Amazon has some great deals already. Got the obligatory cool design football and rugby ball plan to wrap in a box to throw them off the sent 😂

mrsconradfisher · 14/11/2025 22:30

My DS is a golfer too. It’s his birthday next week and he asked for a golf tripod to film himself for his GCSE PE.

ThatshallotBaby · 14/11/2025 22:39

Compressed air can for cleaning keyboards
Unusual snacks, like Santas secret flavour Pringles
Calvin Klein boxers
hand strengthners
fiddle pen
glow in the dark football
soft indoor football
venus flytrap plant
jelly bean roulette

Leeds2 · 14/11/2025 22:41

Gift card for Nandos, Costa, Greggs etc.
Tube of the Christmas flavour Pringles.
Bottle of Heinz ketchup or BBQ sauce or mayo which has been personalised.

Coffeeismyfriend1 · 15/11/2025 08:14

Teacher of teenager boys - a maths set (the ones in a tin) for his upcoming exams 🤣

Some nice shower gel, golf balls, little Lego poly bags are great for stockings - I got a few you my niblings (13 and 18) last year. A nice bottle, some solid cologne?

Shambles123 · 19/11/2025 15:16

Does anyone know what current teen boy water bottle preference is?!

HushTheNoise · 19/11/2025 17:45

Sounds plenty, maybe Pringles or Nutella to fill out. Just got Levi's t-shirt for £10 instead of £25 in Levi's shop with 40 percent off and £5 off for joining mailing list.

Frankie135 · 19/11/2025 18:55

Any recommendations for pull up bars that dont damage walls.?

Oh and last year his fave gift was a pull up bar.

@Shambles123 DS loves his metal water bottle- his is Metallica cos he's a bit of a emo lol- it's a shaker but he just uses it for water. It's been through the dishwasher a million times and still looks fine.

A couple of books by Judith Butler would
make excellent stocking fillers & be educational to boot.

That is, if you haven’t already familiarised your young boys to her outstanding material already 😊

TheSandgroper · 20/11/2025 12:40

I’m a fan of independence for boys and girls so something from Gerber or Victorinox has been on my DD’s list before.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 20/11/2025 16:59

I bulk out my 17 year DS’s stocking with random Japanese snacks i can find. He also always gets a couple of books and new socks (nike) and boxers. And guitar strings.
