DS has said he would like to see this at the Theatre - my question is if you have seen it did you see part 1 & part 2 on sane visit ?

And I appreciate everyone has different points of view but where did you sit and do you recommend it ?

Thank you Flowers

Everyone I know who has been to see if has done both on the same day. They normally have something to eat during the gap between shows.

JG24 · 13/11/2025 19:54

I think most people book it in the same day and go for a meal in-between (the restaurants nearby are packed during the interval)
We booked both for the same day, the second one got cancelled due to technical issues but they allowed us to rebook both parts for free for another day.
Btw it was brilliant!

HereComesDecember · 13/11/2025 19:56

I’ve been twice, both times watched both parts same day. Gone for dinner in between. Depending on where you’re coming from it can be a long day!

GovernmentFundedSteak · 13/11/2025 19:56

We did both on the same day, I don't know anyone who hasn't. We didn't find the gap between the shows would have been long enough to eat a proper meal, especially if the restaurant was busy. We ate before part 1 and then had sandwiches in the gap.

Imisscoffee2021 · 13/11/2025 19:56

I saw it the same day, I went to Foyles down the road and went to their cafe, had a glass of wine and some food, read a book, perused the books. There's plenty of options around to grab a bite in between the shows. Or wander the christmas lights as they're good round there and into soho/Covent garden. Ugh I miss living in London typing this, moved away two years ago 😆

I sat front row royal circle or equivalent I think, was cool for some of the effects, won't say which and spoil it.

It was a cool bit of theatre, not a huge fan of the plot bit some bits were genuinely moving and the effects were unreal.

londongirl12 · 13/11/2025 19:59

there’s websites where you can select the seat and it will show you what the view looks like. I really want to go and see it.

lifeturnsonadime · 13/11/2025 20:00

Go see both on same day, it's fabulous, a real event.

We went to China Town in between for dim sum.

lighttherapy · 13/11/2025 20:02

Same day two parts, went for dinner in between. Sat somewhere in the Stalls and had good view. Recommended.

Firstsuggestions · 13/11/2025 20:04

I've done it both ways and would definitely recommend same day for both parts.

Mugcake · 13/11/2025 20:11

I'd see both in the same day (that's what we did) and either book ahead for a restaurant or walk from Leicester square to Coventry garden -its about 5/10mins or green park - about 15mins to find somewhere to eat.
The show itself is amazing!

Jasmineismymonster · 13/11/2025 20:11

Saw on two separate days - was tiring. Saw on same day, fantastic!! Best theatre I’ve seen.

Yorkshireteaandbiscuits · 13/11/2025 20:11

Saw both parts on the same day. Went for a pizza in the middle and booked ahead. My son is a big potter fan andloved it. Special effects are great. However I found it very long, over hyped and dull (sorry!)

ThatBluntZebra · 13/11/2025 20:19

Just to buck the trend - we did it over two days. It was great. My husband appreciated not being sat in the small seats for too long in one day

ProfessionalPirate · 13/11/2025 21:24

DH and I saw it back in 2016 on its first run. We saw both parts in one day - preferential in my opinion as it keeps you in the immersion. We went for a pre-booked afternoon tea and stroll in the break between parts. We absolutely loved it. I can’t wait until my kids are old enough to take!

QueenOfThorns · 13/11/2025 22:18

Saw both on the same day, with a quick restaurant visit in between (Bella Italia, I think). I think I would’ve been gutted to have to wait any longer to find out what happened next!

We sat in the Grand Circle and the view was great, although the people on the very front row of that section were complaining about how cramped the legroom was, so you might want to avoid those seats

BreakingBroken · 13/11/2025 22:31

Family recommended two separate viewings. 9 yr old grandson fell asleep before the end of part 1.

Moro93 · 14/11/2025 03:04

My DH and I seen both parts on the same day and went to Chinatown for food during the break. I think most people do this. It depends how old your DS is and whether you think he has the attention span to sit through both parts on the same day. You know him best.

Moro93 · 14/11/2025 03:08

Just to add, I think both parts on the same day is best as you’re more immersed in the story and will likely want to see part 2 after part 1.
However, I suffer from hypermobility so get painful joints and the seats aren’t the most comfortable. I felt a bit restless in it near the end so if that’s an issue for you then maybe do it over 2 days.

Lillers · 14/11/2025 04:27

I’ve seen it twice - the first time I was in the second row of the stalls and could see a lot of how they achieved the special effects, whereas the second time I was in the Grand Circle and that was much better. So I recommend not sitting too close to the front if you want the full impact of the special effects.

CeciliaMars · 14/11/2025 06:08

We loved it! Watched both in one day and ate in between.
