This year we will be doing stockings for DSS9, DD2 and DD4months so a range of things will be needed for stockings, last year I went completely overboard on quite frankly a load of old tat which some of is still sat in junk drawers and never touched! Any other ideas or suggestions would be great! I want it to be stuff they’ll actually use whilst sticking to a budget. Tia!

DSS9: chocolate, sweets, pjs, socks, lcd drawing screen, colouring book, sticker book (both football themed), novelty bubble bath, small buzz wire game

DD2: small tube of chocolate, pjs, lcd drawing screen, sticker book, colour changing bath book, novelty bubble bath, dressing up shoes and tiara, cuddly toy

DD4months: couple of touchy feel books, teether, small bath toy, wooden wheel-along toy, cuddly toy

Also, I’m sorry that there is probably other threads of similar nature - unless I’m doing something wrong the search results I get on MN are often not related at all or from years ago!

That all sounds fine! You could add in Pokémon cards / top trumps / blind bags / a fidget toy.

making sure dd1 and dss1 have the same number of gifts is important, you don’t want them counting!

I’ve also added pop tarts, cake mix and a favourite drink in for mine, but they are a bit older. I’ve done Christmas themed cake decorations before and then made and decorated cookies with them over the holidays.

I always think consumables are good!

Are you sure 9yr old would still use a sticker book and a colouring book? Mine probably wouldn't have by that age.

Magic tricks often go down well. Or whoopee cushions

I used to give my grandson bubbles ( the ones you blow) when he was little in a stocking. He loved them.

PJs for the baby so they all have something the same. New weaning bits, spoons, bibs, sippy cup? Or some baby bubble bath?

For the older two, you can always bulk it out with favourite snacks, however random. Yoghurt-covered fruit usually features in ours. A card game or a couple of those little lego bags for DSS? I think Aldi is supposed to have some of the lego next week. Bath crayons for DD2?

Thanks all. That’s all great! I was trying to keep items similar between the eldest 2 and definitely the same amount of things!

DSS seems to still enjoy colouring books etc, more for when we go out for a meal or something to keep him off his iPad. Bubbles is a good shout for toddler, she loves them! Bath crayons were top of my list but then I read on here they are a nightmare to clean off properly?!

I do themed stocking and try to get everyone the same items, but in their theme.
Always underwear, socks, treat, drink, book/magazine, small toy/game, chocolate orange. This year I'm adding a bookmark and squishy thing. I'll have a 10m old by Christmas, so I'm also trying to figure out options for him to match.

We've always found that bath crayons wipe off easily as long as you do it right after the bath. If we do miss a bit and it dries on, it comes off with our usual bath cleaner.
