Staff room gift

Can I get others views?

We have all of our children at different settings (and they are all wonderful) but have lots of different people involved in their care.

This makes the Christmas gift a nightmare! I thought the best approach would be to get something for each of the staff rooms.

One thing I use a lot when I'm WFH is my dualit chocolate maker (hot or cold drinks). Do you think this would go down well for staff to keep in their staff room? With some nice chocolate powder etc?

Or too boujiee????

Husband thinks I'm over thinking it but I've worked in under valued roles and want to make them feel thanked.

Sounds nice, but won’t there be a class collection for each kid, which is more straightforward?
if not then I’d check with the office that they don’t already have similar before buying.

Teaspoons. There are never any teaspoons in staff rooms, they walk off never to be seen again.

No, it only takes one person to not clean it properly then it falls into disuse, has to be PAT tested, someone needs to buy chocolate. Class collections are by far the best solution IMO but if you want to extend it to non-class based staff then I'd
go for biscuits or something else shareable for the staffroom and cards.

I work in a school and that sounds far too much. Don't feel like you have to get anything. Lots don't and its FINE!

We get so much in school and although the kindness and gesture is always appreciated there really is no need. We always feel so guilty at the added expense and hassle parents give themselves.

If you have to give something a box of sweets or biscuits is always appreciated. That's plenty.

Also, tbh, in our staffroom that wouldn't be used. No one would clean it properly or want to buy the stuff for it. Nice thought though. We usually dash in and out of staffroom as quickly as possible.

I normally just get a selection of tea bags, coffee/hot chocolate sachets & biscuits for them to share in the staff room

this! As someone who works in a school and guards my own cutlery with my life!

Tin of biscuits goes down well. If they get many, they can be a new year treat.

For what it will cost to buy one for the staff room, stick a fiver in a card for each staff member and call it good. I know it doesn’t feel like much, but those tokens add up.

Thanks everyone. I have twins in different nurseries and they are both amazing settings and deserve the best! I would normally do something special for key worker and smaller gifts for everyone else. But to be honest, nearly all have been super involved!

Big tin of Shortbread.
