Oli Ella worth it?

We've got a doll mad DD2. She's got a tiny treasure, a couple of rag dolls which are much loved and the host of accessories/furniture which comes with doll mumhood 😂looking at something from Oli Ella for Christmas - either the full dinkum doll as a main present or dinky/cosy dinkum as part of her stocking. They are beautiful but has anyone's DCs got one? Are they well played with and good quality or do you think they're part of the 'beautifully attractive for adults but not children' trend right now?

I have no experience with the dolls but I just ordered the suitcase/wash bag/backpack set for my daughter and the quality was diabolical. Literally cardboard. I was so shocked, I had to double check I hadn't ordered a large "pretend" set by accident. I then went online and saw TrustPilot reviews stating the arm had come off a doll. They are definitely heavily promoted at the moment on social media etc. They are certainly not in the same league as Little Dutch or Le Toy Van. Of course, I could have just been unlucky but they are quite expensive to take a chance on.

Ive bought a couple (dozy dinkum and one of the other small ones). The dozy dinkum is absolutely gorgeous and I just wanted to hold it myself for ages 😂 rare to have a cute, not slightly creepy doll.

My dd7 is 7. She has 2, a big one and a small one. They're both lovely dolls and have held up well. The little one survived visiting preschool. Both are firmly in the "keep" category.

My girls have both got dozy dinkums and the two year old got a dinkum for her 2nd birthday, both have been a real hit and well loved. They are lovely quality! Keep an eye for black Friday as they tend to go down

We have a dozy dinkum and I think they firmly fall in to the soft toy category (which my DCs aren't interested in at all).

My DD loves baby dolls but they have to be at least a bit realistic. I guess it depends on what your child likes. They are good quality though.

My daughter loves the dozy dinkum dolls and they are so satisfying to hold. She's 3 and has loved them since she was 1. She occasionally plays with the 'big baby' sprout (dinkum doll - which I lovingly knitted loads of clothes for which were then put on the dozy's)

DD5 has a few of the cozy dozy dinkums. They were her favourite dolls as a toddler/preschooler but have recently been relegated to sitting on the shelf as she’s edging closer to 6. Quality is decent (although dozy noses are known for sometimes coming unstitched), and they have survived a lot of washing after being taken to nursery regularly.

Dinkum dolls aren't worth the full price tag imo. Like a lot of olli ella. We have a dozy and full dinkum. Dozy is good for young children. Full dinkum don't age very well. The outfits are cute though but many aren't amazing quality. Look at the dolls secondhand on vinted and you'll see how they age.

Never pay full price they. Do do offers and sales on them. Babipur always have at least 10 percent off.

Thanks all, maybe a dinky dinkum it is then. DD luckily loves soft toys too so they may be the safer option.

DD, nearly 8yo, has had a Dinkum since her 2nd birthday. She still sleeps with it every night and would be absolutely gutted if it was lost.

However... it looks like its a 100 year old battered toy passed through generations. The hair is just a short matt stuck to the head and the fabric on the nose, ears and hands have come away. DD still adores it, but I think the dozy dinkums stand the test of time better.

DD is 5 (6 in Feb). She's had 2 of the full size dolls and some accessories since her 2nd birthday plus a little sleeping doll from a bit later. They're still going strong but haven't been taken to nursery or similar. The dolls that go out are disgusting.
