Teen boys trending and avoiding

Similar to the teen girl thread really. What’s trending, what’s on it’s way out.
Individual stuff expensive stuff tends to be quite personal at this age, I’m thinking more about the small, but above stocking filler, gifts. Something around £10 - £30 range. Smellies seem safe but Is Lynx still trending? If so which one is OKl? Ted Baker- was loved last year but now? Anything non smelly? I’m so out of touch, and realise I have paid for more attention to the girls who are really specific about what is definitely not acceptable 🙄

From here. I made one with 2 accessories - I think it costs more to add extras eg Harry Potter branding. I only ordered yesterday so I can't comment on delivery time etc yet.

It says 7 days for Pop Yourself orders and shipping is £3.

Eye opening...

I guess teen boys are much more beauty/fashion/smell conscious than the ones around me from my younger days. I would have guessed, games, sports, food, and anything funny for them/their mates..

My son won't be a teen for a while, maybe I'm in for a shock

LifeSucksBigFatBalls · 24/10/2025 03:48

If you dont know them well i would go for a voucher
Greggs, Jd Sports etc

Could you ask the parents?

I dont think lynx is in with teenagers anymore

Keepoffmyartichokes · 24/10/2025 04:53

My DS is 13 and still loves Lynx Africa. Also oodies, Nike socks and sweets, hot chocolate stirrers etc

Pepperama · 24/10/2025 05:45

14 year old here and it’s all clothes, computer/gaming gear and smellies too. This years wish list is Nike trainers, socks, dry fit t shirts. Hoodies from Corteiz or Commes Des Garçon, perfume from Armani, Boss or Versace. Love the vouchers for subway etc idea, he’s not asked for that but would likely love this. Great thread

mummyof2boys30 · 24/10/2025 05:51

15 and 13 here. Both very very different
Still love lynx or any body spray
Aftershave - still happy with cheap stuff
Nike socks
power bank
Random sweets, drinks, hot choc

15 yr old
Anything bike or camera related

13 year old
power tools, welder or back to future mech

rolandsrat · 24/10/2025 06:28

DS is 17. I have no idea what to get him this year. He doesn’t need clothes. He has all the rugby stuff he needs. He likes oddballs and bawbag boxers so he will get some of them.

Issue we have is DS is working full time so buys what he needs as he goes. We have got him Calcutta cup tickets but that’s all so far. He bought a fake Louis Vuitton wallet in Turkey and uses it. I did think about a real one and filling it with gift cards but the wallets are £500!

PersephoneParlormaid · 24/10/2025 06:33

I bought mine some of those ramen noodle pots, he threw them away!
He likes Nike white socks, designer boxers, coffee pods for our machine, protein powder as he’s a gym nut, Reece’s, coffee travel cup, espresso cup, shower gel, deodrant, moisturiser, Amazon/Starbs vouchers
He's told me not to buy him any more Lynx!

Keepoffmyartichokes · 24/10/2025 07:08

Greggs gift card was a big hit too

Anotherdayanotherpound · 23/10/2025 17:26

Gosh, 3 mentions for Calvin klein boxers. Why so popular? Apart from good branding obviously, are they actually better as pants??

Teens don’t care if they’re better pants or not!

Penguinandduck · 24/10/2025 10:51

I must have an unusual teen! Mine hates smellies and sports stuff, and loves art stuff, warhammer, band T-shirts, anything retro, and camping stuff like a good lantern or headtorch.

BearSoFair · 24/10/2025 11:11

Oddballs definitely preferable to CK here but DS2 is all about bright/loud some would say clashing colours in general

A Funko of himself is a brilliant idea, definitely getting one of those, and may get one for adult DS1 too!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 24/10/2025 12:08

@TartanMammyI have a golfer too, but a relatively new one…only properly got into it this year. Any suggestions for some good golf-related gifts, big or small? 😊 So far I have ninja golf tee holder and tees for his stocking!

EllaPaella · 24/10/2025 12:11

DS 14 (nearly 15) is into clothes from Urban Outfitters (especially the baggy joggers) and anything 90’s vintage.
Nike socks (annoyingly as they are expensive and absolutely crap, full of holes within weeks).
He plays guitar and is getting a new one for Christmas.
He probably won’t get new scent this Christmas because he was obsessed with it last year and still has loads left.
He’s quite into his grooming and so likes Cerave products, particularly face wash and moisturiser.
A decent razor as he really needs it now.
I’m quite stuck with him this year for stocking fillers. He wants a reconditioned Mac Book for his birthday (close to Christmas) which we might be able to do.
He likes stuff for his room - huge pinboards for photos, lights etc.

Power tools?! For a 13 year old?

EllaPaella · 24/10/2025 12:42

Oh yes forgot Represent! Definitely in with the teenage boys and of course super expensive 😩

OnlyTheBravest · 24/10/2025 12:49

Big hits were
Young drivers experience
Creed gift pack
Monin syrup pack with either hot chocolate or nice coffee
Gift card tree

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 24/10/2025 13:00

Sorry but Lynx is definitely out for any child aged 12 years and older. It’s not cool and smells absolutely disgusting! It can get straight in the bin. Hits that have gone down well over the years are white Nike socks, CK boxers, Greg’s voucher, Costa voucher, Xbox voucher, PS voucher, cinema voucher, Go karting vouchers. Gym membership for the year.

Aftershaves like Armani, Versace, Tom Ford, YSL and Dior seem popular. Blemish stickers (my DC loves skincare) skincare like Bulldog, Clinique men, no7 sensitive, The Ordinary, CeraVe and L’Oreal seem to go down well here. As do charging cables, favourite snacks and good old fashioned money.

lilachouse · 24/10/2025 13:02

I was pleased with some M&S foodie bits I found yesterday - they’ve got a cool retro American style illustration on them. Picked up PB & Jam swirl spread, Hot maple syrup and Cracked Shell choc sauce for ice cream (us 80s kids can reminisce about Ice Magic!)…plus some pistachio filled gnomes and a massive chocolate coin

see design below, apologies for massive link

OverDram · 24/10/2025 13:04

Ronaldo aftershave
Freeze dried sweets
Shades by Nico sweets
Cross body bag

Iloveagoodnap · 24/10/2025 13:15

I got freeze dried sweets for mine last year and they weren’t keen

He's also pretty new to golf but it's become a bit of an obsession! I'm away to check of the ninja t holder! He's just had a birthday and these are some of the bits he's got:

Taylormade golf bag
3 gloves (American golf had a 3 for 2 offer)
Balls & tees - of course, he goes through 100s!
Alignment sticks
Cleaning kit & towel - amazon
Club - Taylormade 60 degree wedge (his choice)

Golf clothes - we got the ambassador pack from druids which was 6 items for £100 really impressed with it!

He bought himself a new set of irons (Taylormade SIM2 max) with birthday money from relatives - pricey but he is over the moon with them.

For Xmas he has his eye on a new driver and putter. I was also thinking maybe a putting mat (novelty, seen them in sport direct for £20-£30) possibly driving range voucher.

Thanks so much for these suggestions! Taylormade seems to be my DS’s brand of choice too.

He’s very fortunate as his grandparents are golf fanatics and are delighted that he’s got into it so bought him a lovely set of refurbished clubs with a bag so he doesn’t need any big items. Although he has expressed interest in getting a golf trolley which we’re looking into and he would definitely love some new polo tops.

The ninja tee holder is very silly but a bit of fun for his stocking! Just in case it would appeal to your DS, I’ve also just come across a few funny Happy Gilmore golf accessories which my son would love…might get him a towel for his stocking too!
