My brain is frazzled this year with over a years worth of severe sleeping deprivation! So any ideas please for stocking fillers for ages 7, 4 and 1?

Fluffy socks, bath bomb, chocolate coins, top trumps cards, funko blind bags (whatever they are into), fluffy bag charm, colouring pencils. Probably have to do something a bit different for the baby.

Sticker sheets - my kids love these, just with an A4 pad of paper. We use them on car journeys, when in restaurants etc. They even have an Italian brain rot one if your 7 year old is a robloxer.

We have activity packs, made from an A4 zip folder that we keep the above in, along with packs of twistable Crayola pencils (so no sharpener needed), small colouring books, connect the dots etc., as well as Tic Tac Toe (around 80p), mini connect 4, little fidget toys etc., that we grab and go for journeys. So I like to buy some extras of those types of things from Temu to re-stock their packs.

Magnet sorting board - I bought for my 1 year old last year, but my 5 year old (at the time) loved it much more! Good idea for the 4 year old - https://www.temu.com/uk/-wooden-magnetic-color-number-maze-puzzle-board-educational-toy-for-3-year-olds-ideal-christmas-or-birthday-gift-for-boys-and-girls-enhances-fine-motor-skills-learning-activity-board-modern-wooden-board-durable-wood-construction-educational-toys-for--g-601100145115582.html

I love these colouring scrolls, they’d be great for all 3 kids. We sticky tape them to the table and the kids just all have a go at it together - https://www.temu.com/uk/5-pack-doodle-paper-rolls-35-11-8inch-extra-long-drawing-sheets--ocean-animal-traffic-life-dinosaurs-themes-5-scrolls-for-coloring-painting-birthday-thanksgiving-christmas-gift-art-projects-creative-activities--artwork-fun-illustrations---to-cut-scroll--crafts--materials-g-601102938622297.html

Gloves
Scarves
Hats
Socks
Underwear
Chocolate tubes
Chocolate coins
Pyjamas

I didn’t intend for so many of the above to be Temu suggestions, I just checked my orders for things I’ve recently got.

If your oldest child has a particular interest (ie football, kpop etc.), Temu also do great little wrap ups like pencil cases, coin purses etc.

What’s your idea of stocking fillers? Do you stockings as main Santa toys to be opened as a separate gift or are you just literally looking for small cheap fillers to fill out a stocking?

What sexs?

Our stockings are just full of Christmas chocolate and sweets these days, in the past they would contain anything that fitted in them, I never differentiated between stocking filler and present.

caringcarer · 19/10/2025 22:58

A kaleidoscope. My dgs loved his.
Chocolate Santa
Art supplies
Jig jaz scissors
Stampers and an ink pad
Character PJ's dgs loved Pokémon ones.
A coin purse.
You can get fake Lego.
Selection box
Matey bubble bath
Soap on a rope
New felt pens
Temu have wooden naughts and crosses.
A wooden game of Snakes and ladders.

Foam soap was one of the favourite gifts last year, for both the 7 year old and 3 year old. There were bath crayons and normal chunky crayons in a stocking when the younger one was 1. I often do useful craft things like glue, scissors, paintbrushes. Play doh tubs, or slime (DC think Santa is hilarious because I won’t buy it). And always a chocolate Santa sticking out the top.

I have a 6 and a 3 (almost 7 and almost 4 at xmas). Eldest has fake lego, Italian brainrot creature, youngest has hair chalks and clips. Both have a mix of stickers, chocolate coins, a stuffy (kpop DH/pokemon), gemstones bracelets, mini puzzle/magic water painting books, chocolate tubes, nail stickers, mini minecraft nerf guns, and so on. We have 'normal' sized Stockings shaped like socks which helps with budget!

We do main gifts under tree, but the stockings are always magical with lots of consumables (because no one needs more stuff really). I need to get something that lights up still though! Stockings were always mostly boring for me (nail varnish remover, cotton wool pads, toothbrush etc), but magic needn't be expensive or complicated, just needs 1 well thought out winner.

DD’s stocking is the bit that’s from Father Christmas, so there’s a mix of cheapy stocking fillers and a few nicer bits since it’s from the big man. Last year (she was 4) the bits I can remember were:

Crazy foam soap
Character toothbrush and flavoured toothpaste (every year)
Character toiletry set
Glitter/ metallic pens and a few notebooks
One of those parachute toys with the figure that you can throw over the stairs ( grabbed last minute in the gift shop of a NT place we’d visited, and the surprise hit that Christmas )
Little tin with different animal figures in
‘Frozen’ perfume (she’d been on at me for perfume for ages)
Glitter washi tape
A pritt stick and some child safe scissors
Stickers
Knickers, vests and socks
Lip balm
Space themed torch/ projector toy - this one
Yoto card
Frozen water bottle
Chocolate coins
Christmas sweets

This year I’ve already picked up some more lip balms, a little Lego kit that was reduced to £5, and some miniature pens/ pencils (were very into miniature things this year!).

Other ideas I’ve bookmarked -

games in a tin like this

magic butterfly

https://www.rexlondon.com/mini-construction-kit-colourful-racing-car

her own sellotape dispenser and hole punch - this has been requested!

ResusciAnnie · 19/10/2025 23:40

Yep, consumables:

bath bombs
other bath stuff
stickers
little activity sets (eg baker Ross, they’re often recyclable/not plastic which is nice)
loads of sweets (baby snacks for the baby. Pretty sure DD had some Ella’s pouches one year 😆)
a little craft kit eg you can get small bouncy ball making kits from Galt etc
Tenporary tattoos
bath crayons

Books
Figures of ranges they already have eg sylvanians, playmobil, schleich

Then some BIG things to pad out the depressingly massive stockings my mother made:
cuddly toy
socks
slippers

ResusciAnnie · 19/10/2025 23:40

Oh. BLU TACK. They bloody love it. 3 kids, last year one got blue, one got pink, one got white. Mad for it!

Readyforslippers · 20/10/2025 04:20

Smiggle has some amazing clearance deals at this time of year, I often get a few fun but useful bits from there.

BabyToothbrush · 20/10/2025 04:33

Wow so many good ideas! Thank you so much!

Glowing stickers
Sets of glittery pens
Fluffy socks and mittens
Keychains or figurines of their favorite characters
Desk calendars with their favorite characters or photos of pets if there are any
Crayons
Water coloring books
Fidget toys
Squishmallows
A big pack of favorite snacks/candies

reluctantbrit · 20/10/2025 08:20

DD's stocking was just normal presents small enough to fit in.

Book
bath stuff like Lush she wouldn't get otherwise
character items
small jewellery she asked for
one item of clothing (tradition after reading a book) which was either fluffy socks or a T-shirt.
Powerbank/chargeable handwarmer
