Every year I get asked what I'd like for Christmas and every year I struggle to come up with this so I'm trying to get a bit of inspiration for mine.

I have told DH that isn't lovely he has a wife who is happy with what she has, but he insists I give him some ideas so there is at least a couple of presents under the tree for me.

So far I have some skincare bits.

So please help inspire me!

This is so sad but I’m doing lots of gardening at the moment so I’m wondering whether to ask for a leaf blower.

My list also includes slippers as the ones dp bought me three Christmases ago are worn out.

I have everything I need so gifts for me are hard.

Luxury hot chocolate - the sort where you only need half a mug of it as it's so satisfying, even without whipped cream and marshmallows.

Ferrero Rocher - because they are the worlds best chocolate.

New slippers - I buy from just Sheepskin and they're incredibly comfortable and warm. My latest pair have lasted 3 years already and are still in pristine condition.

Wax melts - better for you than candles and also cheaper for more sent (small business supporters thread seems to have a lot of recommendations).

Could also ask him for a weekend away - either just yourself or both of you.

I know lots of that is the 'usual' but they are the classics for a reason.

Lego flowers is the most unusual thing on my list. The rest is fairly typical.

I think hobby presents are good, I love restoring furniture so my list last year entailed a paint sprayer and mineral spirits and paint stripper etc- then the presents last a long time etc. bit boring to open a bottle of white spirit lol but exactly want I wanted 😂
Do you have any hobbies?
I also have asked this year for a rituals candle and molton brown shower gel- stuff I just couldn't justify spending on normally but really love

HoppityBun · 18/10/2025 16:52

A flower subscription from a grower like Cornish Flowers (no personal connection) so I’d have flowers every month for 3 or 6 months, or even for a year, if I was really lucky.

I send my partner links to things I like in the run up to Christmas and he can buy from there. Things I'm thinking of:

Pair of stud earrings
Mohair scarf
Ritter chocolate
New trainers
Italian cookbook

Purplebunnie · 18/10/2025 17:13

New phone cover
A particular book that was published in May
Pair of needlecraft scissors, the ones with very large "eyes" so I can get my arthritic thumbs in them

Openmouthinsertfood · 18/10/2025 18:06

A Pokemon game for my switch, and I've already bought for myself a load of vanilla scented shower gel, body cream, deodorant, etc as vanilla is my favourite scent.
I agree with PP, do you have a hobby? Would you like one?

GrumpySparkler · 18/10/2025 19:06

Scottish Fine Soaps Sea Kelp Hand Care Set
Original Crocs
Fancy tea
Emma Bridgewater mug

Ugg slippers, I got some for Christmas a few years ago but they finally gave up the ghost this year and I swapped to some Next ones which just aren’t the same.

Or maybe a Kindle as I’ve really got into reading again! I have the Kindle app on my iPad but the iPad doesn’t feel very portable.

I’d also love a L’Occitane almond shower oil gift set, cosy PJs from M&S (I usually by the cheap ones 🤣), and the Banjo Beale coffee table book.

JeminaTheGiantBear · 18/10/2025 19:12

I would like my partner to take me away for a weekend in a cottage by the sea in hmmm, Devon I think, with him arranging it all & driving us there & back & getting in food & alcohol & other necessities. That’s a big present! No work no housework no children no aged relatives no pets, just a cottage and the sea & a pub down the road.

Maybe you could request similar if family can take any children/pets involved for the weekend?

Summerhillsquare · 18/10/2025 19:15

Fleur Narcotique perfume.

Terracotta pots.

That eacalated fast!!

TheNightingalesStarling · 18/10/2025 19:32

Solid metal cutlery.

I'm boring.

TheNightingalesStarling · 18/10/2025 19:33

And the Sherlock Holmes lego.

EmmaStone · 18/10/2025 19:48

Earrings - I’ve got good silver Huggies and some (fake) diamonds trio/pyramid tiny studs (if I can find some I love).

Perfume

Vouchers for Cos and Sweaty Betty

Everyman cinema membership

Jamie Oliver new vookbook

A silver bar necklace we saw at an independent market.

I’ve also got a birthday in December, so need to think of plenty of ideas.

In previous years, DH has bought me beautiful clothbound Penguin classics, which I love looking at on my shelves.

therewasafishinthepercolator · 18/10/2025 19:59

Not a handbag person. I'll use pockets when I can. But I always have one practical, unexciting cross body thing on the go. Current one is trashed. Saw one on fatface that'll do.

Black opium. My usual.

Pyjama bottoms with pockets

They're Only Noodles Michael tshirt

Cheap tablet to watch stuff on when I'm cooking

Ham holder

Marzipan chocolate

Surprises that will be Moomins, Rainbow Brite, or Twin Peaks related.

IKnowAristotle · 18/10/2025 20:14

@Comtesse Not that fast, been through a few other bits. I really want the rivendell set but it's one of the most expensive but so pretty.
