Do you use sacks for kids gifts?

Where do your kids gifts go, into sacks/bags or just all under the tree? I like the idea of sacks in theory but then we don't buy loads of gifts so wonder if it takes away slightly from the impact on Christmas morning. What do you do?

They go in sacks, and the overflow goes around their sacks on the floor. We have 6 children and are the only ones who get them presents so they'd fill the floor if there were nothing to contain them all in!

The Works do big zip up bags that have wrapping paper patterns on them. I put all gifts in there, each wrapped in newspaper to cut down on waste and hours of careful wrapping. the big bag looks good and the DCs don’t know what the gifts are until they take the newspaper off.
When they got new bikes, they were due new bedding too so I put the bike inside a new duvet cover so it was a surprise but didn’t waste time/money on rolls of wrap

Presents from Santa go in sacks (stockings for the older family members). Presents from other people go around the tree. We open Santa presents first thing and try to eat breakfast and get dressed before opening the rest.

Santa leaves his presents in a sack. I guess to make it easier for him to carry and leave in a hurry. I prefer to wrap mine and leave under a tree ( please note, I'm not having a go at Santa, I understand he's very busy).

In our house everyone's gifts are muddled together under the tree. Santa fills stockings for the children.

In the last few years we've used fabric wraps (furoshiki) rather than wrapping paper, its great - easy to use, no waste, and so much quieter than tearing paper.

Many years ago I made fabric baggies with a ribbon drawstring to put Christmas gifts in so that’s what dc know. My brothers and parents also requested baggies be made so there are plenty. We reuse them every year. So much easily to control waste.

Gifts from Fr Christmas were wrapped with paper.

If I had more children, I’d probably have made large, personal sacks to contain everything. When I was a child, we would put out a pillow slip for gifts to go into with anything large like a surfboard just leaning against the wall.

All presents go under the tree here (we only have 1 dc though). That includes mine and DHs from each other and other people.

Thats how it was done when I was little and I remember enjoying checking names and handing presents to my parents and sister as well as opening my own.

Saying that, I was given a really lovely Santa sack and have no idea what to use it for…

Pillow cases! When I was little, we had a pillowcase at the end of the bed for presents from Father Christmas and parents. We opened these with parents as early as they would let us (we were allowed to open one present before the agreed time). The pillowcase was magically filled overnight...

All the other presents went under the tree, and we opened those after lunch.
