No idea what to get my sons this year. They have a PC each, playstation 5, a switch & phones already.

So far ive got a few DVDs & a watch my 14 year old has asked for & a piano keyboard, two boxes of lego & a new pair of headphones for my 9 year old and now im out of ideas.
My budget isnt that much this year either £600 maximum for the both.
What is everyone else getting for their boys please?

We do something you want / need / wear / read. My 12.5 son is having a morning in London with me going to Jamie Oliver’s cooking school. I haven’t asked what the 10 year old wants, but he might get a driving lesson or other experience.

DS 14 is getting sports stuff, have bought him an external hard drive for his Xbox, new crocs, Nike socks and a mystery football top. Also a wee thermal printer from amazon

My 14yo is getting all or some of:

Go-pro camera
-20°c sleeping bag (for mountain camping with scouts)
Smart watch
Gaming chair
Playing cards with a cool pattern (yet to Google these)
External hard drive for gaming pc
Book of hikes in the Pyrenees
Compass
Leather key fob
Wallet

That's between us and GPs. And then some stocking bits. He also has a January birthday.

I have similar ages and suspect they will get along the lines of:

  • medium-size Lego set
  • Swiss Army knife
  • new wallet
  • 2/3 x books each
  • bamboo socks
  • maybe something baking-related
  • whatever new clothes they need come December
  • tickets for something like Strictly/Lego fest/other event

For the past few years we've been trying to normalise having an experience, plus a few smaller things - I don't find it helpful for us or them to think of it as a "big present" plus smaller ones, because there's been some years where they just don't need a big present! When you factor in the stuff that comes from grandparents and aunties and uncles too - I think it's ok to keep expectations a bit smaller.

Bought my grandson a mini fridge for his bedroom when he was 14. He was so excited he phoned his best mate to tell him right then and there.
