Nintendo switch advice

Could anyone tell me the main differences between the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite? Is one better than the other? Also how do the games work...do you buy them, download them or can you do either? My daughter has autism and a mild ID so I'd prefer whichever will be easiest for her to use. She's 10 and this is the first time she has ever asked for anything specific for Christmas so i don't want it to be a disappointment if she can't use it.

Copied from Google:

The main differences are that the Nintendo Switch Lite is a dedicated handheld with a smaller screen, built-in controls, and no TV connectivity, while the Nintendo Switch OLED has a larger, superior OLED display, detachable Joy-Con controllers for versatile play, a built-in kickstand for tabletop use, and TV output via a dock. The OLED is more expensive and versatile, ideal for home or portable use, while the Lite is a more compact, budget-friendly option for primarily handheld gaming.

We have the OLED version. My son plays more often on the TV as he prefers that so the lite version wouldn't suit us.

Have you considered the newer switch model (Switch 2)? The magnetic joy cons look good as they can be a bit fiddly to remove on the normal one.

We’ve got the Switch Oled, which is very good. I don’t remember much about the Switch Lite, but I remember thinking the Oled was better. You can buy physical games (a small plastic thing you insert in the back of the Switch), digital games (comes in a box exactly the same as the physical games but it’s a code you use to download a game. It says on the box whether it’s a physical game or a code, but you just have to look out for it) or you can buy them on line.

I don’t know anything about the new Switch, but I’d be researching into whether you could play games for the earlier consoles on it.

You can play your old games on the switch 2.
I wouldn’t be buying a switch now unless it was massively reduced (which being Nintendo is unlikely!). Otherwise you’ll be buying the switch 2 next Christmas once they’ve seen all the new games they can’t play. at the moment there’s only a few switch 2 only games, but most new games will be unplayable on the original one.

The main difference is that switch lite can only be used as a handled device, whereas the normal switch can be connected to the TV.

Also I’m not sure if you can connect 4 controllers to the lite, you can on the normal switch.
