Children don't spend Christmas with me

My children don't spend Xmas with dh and me anymore. They did a few Yr ago but now do their own thing. We don't talk much online so Xmas was when we would see each other. I have 2 Daughter and 2 sons. Any1 else not spend Xmas with children? Why do you think this is?

I wouldn't dream of not spending Christmas with family but I'm very close with my family anyway. This year both my parents and PILs will be at my house for Christmas day. The days after Christmas are for PJ days and lazing around for us.

I haven't had Christmas with my parents in years, the only year they planned to come here was cancelled due to Covid. My parents live two hours away and my in laws five hours. No one wants to drive long distances on Christmas Day and up till January this year I worked in retail so hard to find a day I was available. We have our own traditions now and are happy having Christmas just the two of us, I can spend the day in my pyjamas if I want to, hubby makes the dinner, then we chill on the sofa, watch a Christmas movie or two and open some pressies.
